The Politics of Life On Mars

Hunt V Flint

Back To The 70s

. I have never understood why such exaggerated respect is accorded to dead beats like Eric Hobsbawm who went on Parroting the same old Cruddas long after those with teeth and reliable continence could only giggle. Nonetheless ,if you will accompany back to the 70s,a la Life on Mars, he had a bout of prescience in 1978. Congratulating himself on the shiny crop of left wing intellectuals that was pouring out of Universities into the establishment, where they are still poisoning the country today, he noted a cloud due to spoil his aquamarine prospect…
“ On the other hand and dangerously ,” he said ..“ we have a simultaneous relative decline in the manual workers participation in the Labour Movement . The very fact that intellectuals are a rather numerous body creates the danger of divergence . There is a barely concealed contempt for the workers who do not happen to agree with revolutionary intellectuals. There is a danger that establishing ghetto in which intellectuals , while claiming to operate within the working class movement , really address each other often in terms that are incomprehensible to anyone outside “
Of course the touching faith in the importance of intellectuals, and the use of such risible terms as “ “Revolutionary “ may have us hiding our mirth politely today, but there is an unmistakeable echo of the sort of points made by Nick Cohen in his superb book .What’s Left. He comments that by the 21st century male members of the white working class ( The Likes of us ) were ..“sexist racist homophobes cultural conservatives and suspected of harbouring unsavoury Patriotic feelings “ to the Left. Intellectuals soi disant are now just the career professionals but the divide was always about money and class really . This schism been at the heart of the Labour Party right back to the eugenic fantasies of early Fabians and the vicious snobbery of Virginia Woolf. We can guess what they would all make of DCI Hunt , the Working man in all his unadorned glory.

The Last Days of The Working Class Hero

Jumping forward a few years lets visit the Yorkshire mining constituency of Don Valley just after the 1997 disaster .Caroline Flint ,clone Blair Babe sans pareill and witless human accessory , is returned .In so many ways she is emblematic of the new politics . Until that time this Constituency had been represented by a long line of manual workers who were also Yorkshire-men from a Trade Union background . Her predecessor was a Lorry Driver sponsored by the national Union of Mine workers . Miss Flint on the other hand was educated at East Anglia “ Uni”, and followed this auspicious beginning with a glitteringly pointless career in Equal opportunities ,working for the Local Authorities. She would never rebel against the Labour whip and is so ,‘switched on’, that she reportedly proposed to her partner by fax. She partly reflects the existence of only one working pit in the area and the new one member one vote system which was also crucial to New Labour`s 90s “Makeover “. She regards politics as an extension of the caring services ,but her role is a pretty face to make New Labour look “inclusive“. Typically the Blair inclusiveness , like the A list ,looks at every barrier except class ,and by doing so renders the effort counter productive tokenism .

Nostalgia ?

I have hated the trade unions ever since they turned the lights out in the 70s but contemplating sycophantic “Professionals “ like La Flint , I have an almost misty eyed nostalgia for the blue collar warriors . At least they cared about someone and with real working-class people in the House the Conservatives were obliged to engage with life . Now we have one lot of tiresome nits playing media ping pong often indistinguishably ,each from the other. Politics has become playground for the shallow and the end of “explicit” Union power is part of this development.

So what

I have begun some stories that I have not finished here . For example why it is that the left have won the secret battle for Labour and the mirror image problems of the Conservatives upon which George Walden in New Elites has tuned his flame thrower on to such effect in New Elites .In this post I have a limited aim of showing some of the deep the deep resentment between the working classes and the supposed natural party . Dare we hope that the Conservatives will not just gloat while new Lab lose out to the BNP in spots . Dare we wish that Cameron will try to address the people who have been betrayed more than anyone by New Labour deceit ?

The Time is Now

I wonder if the great affection DCI Hunt in particular has sparked , has anything to do with a sense I detect in the ether that some of his values have been betrayed ,.For all his faults he is loyal to his people . How many of the “Professionals “ in politics now in either Party can you say that about.

David Cameron ? Leave it out !!

Hatfield Girl Shock Revelations

http://hatfieldgirl.blogspot.com/ THIS IS FASCINATING

I am all agog. Hatfield Girl has long been one of my favourite contributors both on Croydonian , Dale and who knows where else here posts have been marvellous at times. She seemed forbiddingly high brow but definitely, or so I thought,” one of us”. Having thought of her as a thought provoking original thinker from the right who wrote with tremendous authority and good humour ,imagine my horror then when I read the below on her new Blog

“It is striking that many of the most thoughtful and caring of blogs, deeply concerned with social and economic distress, and cultural loss, and with imaginative and effective suggestions on what is to be done in the face of the unhappiness of society, are from those who state that they are 'right of centre'.
The disabling of our constitution and the destruction of all kinds of true rights and freedoms also shook me as I read what is enacted, and what is planned by the current government. Again, the salient protests were coming from the 'right of centre' bloggers.

Yet I am not right of centre.”

I am not right of centre…….. eeeeek ,and yet she has drifted undetected amongst us . What is this ? It appears I have given my heart, metaphorically, speaking to an impostor , someone who for all I know might be a …Liberal of some sort or worse, if there is anything worse. I for one will be fascinated to see what HG comes up with now .Is she an apologist for the “Third Way” nonsense or is she a Conservative who is yet to realise it ….thus far there are a few clues but anyone as committed to honest enquiry as she is must be worth reading .

PS
Oh I will be back with my sorry efforts soon maybe twice a week with some gags thrown in to fill the gaps . Nothing high brow here

The Last Post

Just to make sure if anyone bothers looking in they know. I am very busy at work and trying to sell our house .I will not be posting for a while although I will pop in elsewhere.

No Sex Please We`re Chinese

With constant pressure from families and careers, a staggering 30 percent of middle-aged couples give up on sex, according to a new survey.
The survey, the first of its kind to measure intimacy between middle-aged couples in China, was conducted by American pharmaceutical manufacturer Eli Lilly Company and the Beijing-based China Population Communication Center.
Interviewing 32,906 people in 10 big cities including Beijing and Guangzhou, the poll found that middle-aged couples in the Chinese mainland seldom communicate in their daily life, and often rate their sex lives poorly

Thats from the Peoples Daily China.

Perhaps Miss Smack should pop over and give them a few tips .

Priorities ( A Fermata in Blogging)

Its a shame really because I`ve had some great comments recently ,but there will have to be a period of exceedingly light blogging . I need to "focus" on clients ,family and selling the house. It is frustrating because I am brim full of ideas . I feel like a Catherine wheel that just went out in the rain....well a banger anyway

Much as I love interacting with everyone , there are more important things than my egomaniacal rants.....(just)

Pete ( Brother ) and Shazzer

They are both Teachers and tell me much of the woes of not being able to punch the gobby bastards they are stuck with as they deserve. They have two lovely children and three lovely properties...but I`m not bitter

Isadora Duncan is Reborn !!

Suprise Party For Catherine( Suprisingly Brilliant)

My cousin Catherine,to I and my siblings were close when we were young ,was 40 the other day . I find in beyond comprehension that she is so old but it appears her years have past at the same speed as mine. She is married to Lawrence ( Levi ) who has made a pile of wonga in the Computer Bod supply game , he supplies the Oil industry mostly and does like to spend with great generosity.

It was typical of him to arrange a surprise Party to which 90 people were invited fed and lavished with an endless free bar and entertainment. Now I had one of the best evenings I have had for ages . Partly because we were able to palm of the sprog on mum and actually gallivant out together but mostly it was the quality of the theme night singers . It sounds awful doesn’t it . A Vegas night with an Elvis impersonator , a Sinatra Impersonator show girls in a local Hotel . It should be dull and a gaudy disguise for pain and insecurity . In fact it was life affirming and wonderful. The Sinatra was unbelievably good and well….you are not short of top material are you and Elvis just kept delivering the best of the best. During “ My Dream” written for the 68 come back Bro Moi and Bro-in-law with others were all up there helping with the backward punching .Peter Kay territory may be but a slice of joy nonetheless . Quality...join if you will and feel free to assume the position ...........

......We're lost in a cloud
with too much rain.
We're trapped in a world
that's troubled with pain.
But as long as a man
has the strength to dream
he can redeem his soul
and fly...
Deep in my heart there's a trembling question.
Still I am sure, that the answer's
gonna come somehow.
Out there in the dark,
there's a beckoning candle, yeah.
And while I can think, while I can talk.
While I can stand, while I can walk.
While I can dream.
Please let my dream come true...
Right now.

Freedom and Slavery

The idea that the brutal legacy of the slave trade lives today in black Britain has some merit , but the implication of universality is incorrect. The third and fourth generations of West Indian families who went to the US and Canada in the 1950s are remarkably free from "the problems that afflict much of Britain's black population". They are for the most part educated income earners. Many are entrepreneurs and property owners.
One can only conclude that West Indian migrants to America were either of a different strain or that British society, its ethos and racism, is more virulently inhibiting of West Indian enterprise and creativity than it is in America. We are left to conclude that the problems of black people in Britain are not inherent in the West Indians or indeed, Africans, themselves; the problems have colonial origins to some extent but perhaps more importantly our culture of victim hood and infantilisation.
How dreadful for the bleeding hearts to discover they are actually harming black men and women. Isn`t it obvious though , they are the same as everyone else

They want to be free

Iain Dale Speaks Out !!

"Last week ( writes Top Blogger Dale)I wrote on Comment is free that David Miliband should run against Gordon Brown for the Labour leadership. Many commenters took their lead from Talleyrand and pondered "what did he mean by that"?

Jackie Ashley then wrote a column claiming that the reason Tories like me were "talking up" Miliband is because we look at the great clunking fist of Gordon Brown and we're frit. Not for the first time, Jackie Ashley was talking nonsense. She may have great insights into the Labour Party but her knowledge of how the Tory mind works seems to diminish with every passing month.

I wrote my column on Miliband with no agenda. Frankly, I couldn't care less who Labour elects. As long as the man who has trounced us Tories three times in a row is despatched I don't care who succeeds him. The truth is, people may not like Blair but they see him as a better prime minister than Gordon Brown or any other putative Labour successor. So the sooner Blair goes, the happier I, as a Tory, will be.

Anyway, back to the point of this article. Stories appeared in the press yesterday that the Conservatives have set up an "anti-Miliband unit". Acres of newsprint were devoted to this revelation. It shouldn't have merited an inch of space. All political parties have a political unit which examines the utterances of top level politicians in other parties. Someone inside the Conservative party may well have been deputed to draw up a dossier on Miliband - there would have been a dereliction of duty if they hadn't. But for this to become a major story shows how bereft of imagination many of our political reporters have become.

Let me make clear, given the choice of Brown or Miliband as Labour leader I'd take Brown every time. The British people have made up their minds about Gordon Brown. They don't like him and after last week's budget their respect for him has diminished too. If Miliband challenged him, it would draw him out and maybe we might actually have some proper debate about the future of both the Labour Party and the country. Miliband's "I-can" article in this week's New Statesman says more about the future than Gordon Brown has said in 10 years. If I were a Brown supporter I'd be worried about why my candidate couldn't articulate such thoughts as well."

Well Ian I cannot agree that Millipeded articulated anyting other than his transparent smarm but thankyou for clarifying that for us all !!

Leaseholders Stabbed in The Back

RTB Leaseholders are the product of single most successful policy of the Thatcher years; Right to Buy (RTB). This created 4 million new homeowners who are natural Tory voters; 10,000 of those live in Islington, figure around 20,000 voters on an average of two voters per household.

This Government has savagely attacked RTB and in response to pressure from extreme left elements within their own party slashed the RTB discount to a paltry £16K (down from a full 65% in the Tory years). The result?

An obvious collapse in the number of RTB property sales leading to the first fall in home ownership in 68 years. See

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=444799&in_page_id=1770

This Government’s pathetic effects to replace RTB with incomprehensible and ill thought out “Social Homebuy” options have been an expensive waste of time and money. See

http://www.insidehousing.co.uk/news/article/?id=1448830

Are you listening Tory Big Wigs !!!

Back the extension of the £10,000 recharge cap to cover the 8500 HfI leaseholders (and not just the 1500 PFI street property leaseholders - who are already capped thanks to this Tory legislation)

This will be good for the Tory mayoral campaign and good for the leaseholders cause. They are organised and they are angry , they can make a difference

" Help" ( Its just a cry for help)

I am glad to see that the baton for world champion pompous arsed bore has passed from Rachel……..wha.. sorry nodded off there for a second , to the above . I assume his attack ( on the ugly thread) is for the purposes of getting some attention and as a kindly soul I shall not deny the poor lonely chap. I have looked at his blog and it has the unintentional comic sententiousness of youth. Quite sweet really but you can’t comment , I think it’s a “ Look at me “ exercise

I was obliged to email him

“The aroma of injured pride, seeping ,as it does from the brackish waters of an ignored backwater, have reached my nose.
You have taken this infinitely more seriously than it was intended and you have not followed or understood the arguments that develop from the collision of Patriotism and the Moslem threat to it from the theocratic far right . You express yourself incidentally like a sulky child in a second language and , somewhat ironically, you appear to have absolutely nothing to add yourself . Please feel free to turn up and pontificate on the open veldt where you will find your paucity of breadth will be exposed .

You are a desperately conformist brown nosing auto erotically inclined sad little fuckwit and it saddens me that such people should exist”

And don`t you forget it boy ! Thats me bravest keyboard warrior in the West . Yeee ha

Harsh but .......

'BBC bosses apologised last night after a radio presenter said Faye Turney would be to blame if she were decapitated. Tony Butler, of BBC West Midlands, said women should not be in war zones. He then referred to decapitation, saying "it would serve her right" for being in Iraq' - The Sun.

I cannot help but notice that the fact of a woman being captured has compromised us somewhat and I have also noticed that women police are uable to be effective at football grounds or amongst crowds. We are now about to women Fire..um..women and I will have to lose a bit of weight before they will be able to carry me screaming from a burning building . Tony Butler is obviously a twerp but perhaps we do have have a think about the roles a woman can actually fill. Head of State , PM,..that sort of thing

One Faces Death One Does Not

Bradley Tucker does not...meanwhile in Ohio....

DEATH Row Scot Kenny Richey (on death row) says he is confident appeal court judges will rule in his favour and release him. "Thankfully he still retains his sense of humour. His conviction was in Ohio 20 years ago for an arson attack that claimed the life of a toddler.”
This article: http://news.scotsman.com/scotland.cfm?id=488032007

.
. For some crimes justice will be served by no other means than the Death Penalty. It is not a matter of a strict balancing of the scales . I do not suggest we torture Rose West for years and then kill her ( which she deserves ) ,but rather a sacramental act showing that Society loves the departed ,not just the convenience of those who remain. There are problems of course .The most serious is perhaps the damage done to the executioner and the rest of us who by proxy We will become like Hamlet “The deeds creature “, dehumanised.
I think not .It is unpleasant for a soldier to kill, (ideally), but it is his duty . So is it ours to bear this burden , and the huge expence by the way. The problem of a miscarriage of justice is reasonable although exaggerated ,and non existent for the few cases I have in mind . There are about 40 people on real life sentences at the moment. They should all be dead for what they have done.

I don`t know that Bradley Tucker (the petty criminal who shot Peter Woodahams shoule be one of these , but lets at least make the victim a person.

In her statement,( Bereaved mother ) Miss Bowden, a classroom assistant, said: "Peter was the doting dad and Sam the daddy's boy. They were inseparable. Peter loved the time he got to spend with Sam, taking him to the park and on adventures, reading him bedtime stories.

"Sam believes that his daddy is a star now in heaven. It breaks my heart to hear him when he points up and says: 'Look, daddy is looking down on me'. When he has been given sweeties, he puts them down and will leave some for his daddy."

Murder is a special crime. There is no recompense and there is no recovery. Our penal and judicial system has slowly lost confidence in the rightness of punishment as a valid concept at all and our people be come more ignobly interested in empathising than rightness every day. We need a Death Penalty and we need Juries with the moral courage to convict. We must turn our backs on this selfish touchy feely all purpose sympathy which allows injustice to grow like a stinking weed .

A Good Death

When they come to your front door , how you gonna come with your hand on your head or on the trigger of a gun…”( Clash Guns of Brixton)SO what will you do when Milliband and “ Engsoc “ , come for you ? What death would sum up for you the drama of your life .If you are a symphony what is the last note to make it of a piece ?

Suggestions

Newmanias Death- I will go in a spatter of sub machine gun fire my hand flung in yearning to the Green of English Fields which though they call it Euro Region One will be forever England . My Blood and tears will mingle with the Red of the English flag and sink deep into the roots and soil below.

Croydonians Death
- C will be under interrogation form the Broonite “ Social Worker combined Judge “ kill squad. They will have put up with him for a while in the hope his shallow Market rationalism can be turned but now he has to answer.
“ Croydonian Do you love the state ? Yes or no!!!”
“ Well is love really valid for a notional entity it’s a contract surely and you ……..”
“ Answer the question , one more sneer and you are dead””
“ Is that one more including this one or Arrrrrrrcggg!”

Thus he joins Newmania in the soil of the Country

The Hitch-

When he is eventually run to earth , having harried from his Lake District fastness with a band of sharp shooting guerrillas ,I like to imagine he will smile with satisfaction at the firing squad. One lad will lose his nerve and the Hitch will walk across calmly adjust the setting of his gun for him and request that he behaves like a soldier and get on with it .

One more ..Verity . She is far to seriously witty for this blog but I have admired her for ages . This is way I see it ….

For months now the state have searched for the flame thrower propagandist whose material surfaces like a malignancy in every bar and club in the land . . Though her followers try to hide her she knows that soon she must be found and decides that today will be that day.
She walks to the club Gethsemane ,a cool Jazz bar, puts on a old Nina Simone record ,and waits for the “ Social Workers “ to arrive ………

Outside they hear the rattle of machine gun, and sound of a plangent phrase playing over and over …….

In truth we would cry like babies I expect but ideally how would you like to be seen at the last

Been Rumbled

In the New-Statesman today they blithely call the Labour Constituency an alliance between the old Labour activists and the Middle England Public Sector. In other words the parasites against the tax payers. Well ok that is a generalisation about the Public sector but you know what I mean .
Yesterday I was “appraised “ by my employers , and ( amongst many glowing personal tributes) I was found to be spending to much of the companies time on the internet for my own personal use . New fascistic monitoring procedures are due to crunch down like the jack boot of a Nazi on the head if a freezing Pole insurgent,( who has held out in the woods flitting form shadow to shadow for months ). So blogging will have to relegated to lunchtimes and my own time . Yeeeesh !!!
Its like dying .
So I will have to deal with the Milliband challenge and the scum bags that have our people later. In the meantime a bit of light hearted nonsense. , T -Boy was being his usual apologist for the Broon Stalinist state yesterday and I mentioned how I would like to go is the bastards came for me....see next post

Ugly Political Women

Arlene Small...you are the weakest link ...Goodbye

"As a Member of the European Parliament for the North West, keeping in touch with and giving information to the millions of people I represent is not easy!"

Well I was enjoying this but in view of the awesome experience of being criticised for bad taste by The Hitch (!!!!????) and my own kindly nature ,the competition is now over. I shall not even say who the winner is .I may do men at some point to even up the game.

Phillip Shipley MP Wants Union Jack on Mosques

Me likey Phillip Shipley. Me likey very much....................

"Issues that Philip feels particularly strongly about are maintaining law and order, tackling asylum and immigration problems, ....... in October 2005 became the first Conservative MP to openly state that Britain should withdraw from the EU. Philip is also the Parliamentary Spokesman for the Campaign Against Political Correctness!"

And he is putting his mouth where his mouth is on the Muslim problem/

"An MP today urged Muslims across the country to fly the Union flag on mosques to show their unity and commitment to Britain.Shipley MP Philip Davies wants Muslim communities to adopt the measures after similar demands were made in Australia. He argued that such a move would "publicly show everyone that those in the Muslim community are very keen to integrate "
Yes me also likey Australia where such things are happening already and have said so much lately .There has been a range of responses

THE PREDICTABLE

Ishtiaq Ahmed, spokesman for Bradford Council of Mosques, described the suggestion as "grossly insulting"."Where will it end? Will people want us to wear the Union Jack on our clothing to prove we are loyal."

AND SOMEWHAT MORE THOUGHFUL

Rashid Awan, president of the Pakistan Society of West Yorkshire,. He said: "It is unthinkable and unwise. To fly the flag does not really resolve the problem ( He admits there is one )................People could fly the flag but still be being fed the wrong message and breeding hatred inside. We have to win hearts and minds...."Flying the flag is a wonderful thing and can create unity, but mosques are a place of worship and house of God and does not belong to one nation, but every nation.”

Now I think that is not unbalanced except as we know Mosques are not only places of worship and Islam is inherently aggressive and political as a religious requirement. In fact they belive that every nation belongs to Mosques .Nonetheless I have the pleasant feeling that someone in the Muslim community has noticed that we have had enough.

Bel is my current virtual swoon and she has superb Alic Miles quote demonstrating the congenitally inward gaze of the Labour Party

“Look at the widespread interpretation of Mr Straw’s appointment as a “coup” for the Brown campaign. Only in a sort of fantasy Westminster politics it is. Mr Straw, as is obvious to anyone with half an eye on politics rather than a living in it, is simply interested in a plum position in the subsequent Brown Government. Securing Mr Straw’s agreement to be campaign manager must have been about as hard as securing a donkey’s agreement to spend a day in a carrot shop.”

Prague , City Of Sin .....

'The Czech Football Association today fined the national team, which lost 1:2 to Germany in the Euro Cup qualifier on Saturday, one million crowns for the stormy celebrations of defender Tomas Ujfalusi's birthday after the match, team's spokesman Lukas Tucek told reporters today. The team's coach Karel Brueckner said he had been considering his resignation over the incident..... Sip ( a tabloid) reported that ...the players were drinking in Prague's luxurious hotel Praha where they were accommodated and invited several prostitutes to their hotel room in early morning hours. ......... The Prague Daily Monitor.

What are they whispering ?

Poor women, everything is against them isn’t it and nothing is ever their responsibility . They decide they do not wish to participate in the democratic process and that is somehow whose fault? Men of course. Whilst cruising the low life haunts of desperate media creep and salivating Brown Nose,Recess Monkey ,I came across this nugget which ,initially, I thought was funny.

“Anne Snelgrove (South Swindon) (Lab): I joined a 98-strong group of Labour women MPs( The much respected Blair babes)., … so far this year the Conservative party has selected 17 men and no women?
Mr. Straw: A debate on this issue would be very important. I note that more people called “Mark” have been selected as Conservative candidates than have women.”

Just for second I snorted with glee”.That’s right ; what an irrelevant distinction . Why not discuss how many men called Mark are selected, its just as politically important. Discuss how many men a are called Steve or Kevin and you might even get to grips with class exclusion”. Sadly , it is as you would expect a flaccid politically correct (but factually incorrect), plea to be more ,“sensitive to women”, passed on by a fawning courtier to the establishment .
Only thanks to the confusingly named “ Sir Igor …Judge” and learned friends have we established that conceivable a woman might drunkenly consent to sex and it still be her responsibility . Jesus when I think the horrors I have morphed into Beer glass beauties over the years , they are not the only ones who wish they could go back in time on occasion. Is nothing their fault ever?

We know that women cannot “ Win “ without the help of the Pignot swilling circuit of well connected “ W2W” mafia by which the Etonian top brass take the Conservative Party from its grass roots Lower Middle-class support and give it to their posh media girlfriends . This has the effect of rendering any woman candidate immediately under suspicion of being a Cameroon glove puppet . No doubt , they will largely turn out to be just that . Shame for the good ones but that’s what Stalinist quotas will do for you .

Meanwhile the Charidee industry has been hijacked by shadowy wimmins groups and the recent red nose preenathon gave staggering amounts of its blackmail loot to these cultural lever pullers . Note how they hide their activities !
£112447 – The Women’s Aid Foundation, £114,501 The Family Welfare Association ( domestic abuse ), £43,000 Women’s Integrated Services. 60 % of the African slice went to women related charities most of which I have never heard of . £500,000 for the Women’s support group, Childhope UK turns out to be spending most of its £857,314 on the street girls of Bangladesh. .

Back in the UK from “ Children in Need”, there are the sillies of course £59,000 for Women-zone Community Centre Bradford that provides and gym and steam room for local women.£12,481 went to “Women in Prison “ and organisation that campaign against the incarceration of female prisoners . Now that’s not a child is it ?

(Incidentally £56,123 went to the children’s legal centre which funds mischievous cases on behalf of children like Shabima Begum and her Jilbab crusade . In other words straight onto the pocket of Cherie Booth who represented her…A WOMAN who typically has operated behind the scenes.).

So it would appear that the old left / wimmin`s studies nexus is alive and well and plotting behind the innocent red nose. With the posh Cameroons being handed out power in return for the possession of breasts as well, the forces of feminine despotism are coming for us in a pincer movement.
Its like going back to the school playground. You think they are watching you admiringly playing football but when you turn your head quickly they are giggling and WHISPERING TO EACHOTHER .

What are they whispering ?
"Psssst lets get rid of the men entirely shhhhhhhh!"

See City Unslicker

Superb punchy piece from the slicker entitled "Gordon's impact on your property choices " He is on my blog roll all of which I try to keep up with and like . As ever the slicker does not waste a word and its well worth a look.

How To Spoil It for Kazakhstan

'Zhumaskaliyev Stuns Serbia For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan' –

The Observer go all Borat as Kazakhstan record their first competitive win.

Poor things

Appeasement and its Myths

Well the provocative and annoying , Tory Boys Should Grow Up is here making a nuisance of himself.
This is the last word …by me . I wonder if he’ll be back . Doubt it .

TBSGU-If you think anyone on the Left could respect such clap trap you are really living in cloud cuckoo land. And we all have a duty not to remain silent in response.

NEWMANIA- You pontificating child , do you really talk like that in real life …you must be a laughing stock ?. If you are going to pretend that you occupy some academic promontory then you are a tragically deluded a faintly pathetic little man. What left ? A mish mash of self serving a loosely connected whines. You stand for noone and you are ,“ verging” on the traitorous “..

TBSGU- yes there are Moslem nutters, just as there are Christian nutters,

NEWMANIA-No it is not the same . I daresay you could trawl say America and find some loon Christians but you suggestion of equivalence is wildly misleading to the point of being an outright lie. Your laughter is the laughter of Lord Haw Haw .36% of young Muslims believe that a Muslim that converts to another faith should be punished by death and 15% openly admit that they admire Al Qaeda ,as per Policy exchange.45 % of British Muslims believe that 9.11 was an Israeli/ American conspiracy. As many as 100,000 British Muslims believe that the 7.7 atrocities were justified . That is Dame Eliza Manningham Buller ..heard of her ?
No other ethnic group has ever demanded the replacement of law with their own.
Can I assume that you aware of the some of remarks coming from high profile clerics in this country…for example “Jews are kuffarrs , women have insufficient intellect and gays should be thrown from the mountain…said Abu Usamah“…can’t think of a Christian equivalent here and I can quote you many more far far worse some of them from a couple of hundred yards from where I sit.
We have been lied to about immigration time and time again, recently over the EU influx ,but on along term and deliberate basis on the sub continent and African influx which is a lot harder to assimilate. Arch Bishop Sematu criticised the BBC for being afraid to criticise Muslims . Is he a racist to ? Our local Paper is certainly afraid to criticise the Finsbury Park Mosque . Do you have such a Mosque next door . Are you aware of its history , there hasn’t been a cache of guns found for a few years but the same people go there. Is Trevor Phillips a racist? Even he has worried about the extent of immigration . Every DAY 1500 come and 1000 leave in what has been called white flight ( George Walden).Bishop Nazir Ali claimed that Muslim cleric coming from abroad were indoctrinating children …is he a racist.
Why are ethnic Racial attacks in London are increasing to and the biggest sufferers are the Jews . The one race the left hate and do not include in their “pity”
Did you know that in half the known racially motivated murders between 1995 and 2004 the victim was white . Is this what you hear from the media . No because we are lied to, Immigrants are shunted up the housing list because they have more children and more need- fact. The people that applaud this are never the same people who are unable to get a house. Are you on a housing list ? I thought not
The people who so enjoy our lovely multicultural country never ever ever send their children to schools failing utterly to cope with the 8 languages that are spoken there that are already under the most social pressure in the first place . Dianne Abbot sent her children to public school despite the glare of publicity because they are black She is typical of the hypocrisy . Where are you sending your children to school . The human dump up the road from me . I think not .
Nick Cohen , who you say you like but seems to have left your side mentioned that the BBC will have far right groups as baddies , Christian fundamentalists as baddies but never the real enemies of the country in case it offends them.

TBSGU“here is something between attacking extremist factions within Islam and attacking the whole religion as you appear to be doing”

NEWMANIA-Really when the BMC went to the British government and threatened us with more bombing unless our foreign policy is to their liking ? This is an excuse for your vacillation cowardice and cant, now all the more querulous as your views look like those of a dim sixth from debater for the 1970s

TBSGU-order to deal with fascists like Saddam it is best not to conflate such action with an attack on an entire relgion. There are very serious problems in Iran and Sudan at the moment - and my guess is that the bad guys /…

NEWMANIA… Appeasement will you never learn ! Did you support the war do you now , yes or no ?

TBSGUor keeping a safe distance from multiculturalism I must ask my East European friends and black relatives. Most of your comments in this area are just plain ignorant and verging on racism.

NEWMANIA-Oh aren’t you please with your black relatives I `m so impressed. How generous of you ! .Odd how my ignorance seems to encompass a far greater knowledge of the subject than your …whatever it is . Do you have any idea how funny this sort of thing is. We already know you are pleased with yourself . Further evidence is not required

TBSGU- These are serious issues which need to be dealt with seriously - …

NEW MANIA -Oh please learn to speak and stop tacking together slabs of cliché. .

TRSGU-overstating the costs of asylum seekers (i.e lying) as a means of creating fear and winning a few votes is never justifiable - but you seem unable to say that it is wrong.

NEWMANIA-The annual bill for failed asylum seekers by the way is about £40,000,000 there are about 6000 …a very minor part of the equation but you brought it up

TBSGU- ivolvement of religion in British Socialism - best to stay silent about subjects of which you know little -

NEW MANIA -Yes good idea . You can have the history of the Labour Party and I will have everything else that there is (although I know a fair bit about the Labour Party actually). I take it you are now going to shut up unless requested for the details of Kier Hardies tailor .
I do not in any case accept that case Christianity and Socialism were obviously contemporaries that it is meaningful to say it is a progenitor of socialism. There were as many Christian Conservatives and non conformism was more important in Liberalism in the 19th century certainly . There are also many early socialist group that are anti clerical in a way you would not see in the other parties . Harold Wilson was seeking to minimise the continental Marxist element at a time when many of his close colleagues had been communists and the of left wing academia was still ( absurdly ) supportive of Russia and pro unilateral disarmament. That is why he wanted to misleadingly domesticate what is at heart Marxism , not Christianity.
This was the context of the quote you used ,and if you are honest and know anything about it you will know that I am right about his motivation Christianity was ubiquitous in our culture .Thats all

TBSGU-Could I suggest that you try and speak to real normal Moslems

Normal Muslims like the one quoted above , like all of the 7.7 bombers whose families were “unaware “ of their involvement .” Normal Muslims all over London that deny 7.7 ever happened.
I `m sure they open up to you though.! There are some moderate Muslims and they are useful idiots for the large minority of those that hate this country and the tacitly approving majority. They are often Lords or academics and understand less than anyone of their religion-Can I suggest you get out of what can only be your disappearing small social circle and start to question your puerile presumption that you know better than anyone else.

The effect is comic ,which is as kind as I can be under the circumstances. Your respect would concern me if anything .It is worth nothing , if that .The 'left" is dying . That’s why you are here .State control has failed and that is why you are left with your hatred of the white working class and the country. You call this being "nice"
Blimey that was fun ...I think I`ll post it.

( and indeed I have done )

The Ages of Drinking

I had a bit of a messy evening on Friday , one of those occasions when you really are not sure if you behaved unforgivably badly or not . The best I can say is that I think I got away with it . On Saturday I felt old .In pleasant melancholy I constructed the whimsy that ones life is marked with period of alcohol enhanced reality , they lubricate transitions from one age to another. Is this why on so many occasions I have read the name Armitage Shanks ,wobbling gently from one foot to another .

The first drink I can remember was at Christmas . It is another time and another me , my Auntie Gwen was still alive and we were all at there semi in St. Albans . I must have been seven or eight . My father was still ascending at Lloyds and all my cousins were around with their gifts and the gaudiest baubled tree in the word . Its long echoey tunnel to such a memory and it may not comeback to me as it was . I think , I had a snowball and I thought it wonderful .There were glowing faces laughing at me getting it up my nose, and I was a full or bubbles as the sweet drink I lapped like puppy. To think that was thirty five years ago if. . There is always something of a hermetically sealed quality to any Christmas ;its almost out of time .
Then some years later we are in the Elephant and Castle . near Wheat Hampstead in Hertfordshire and I must have been thirteen or so . My father , brother and I are in the garden and dad has quietly bought me a beer. I disliked the taste . I couldn’t see the point of it at all , it was bitter and tasted , if of anything , like rust . .I said something like ,“ Why does everyone like drinking this so much I mean , it doesn’t taste nice at all,”. My father assured me that I would come round to the idea.
Do we always remember our youth as full of sunshine ? I remember gold and green and half closing my eyes so I could almost look straight at the sun and feeling its heat on my face
At sixteen I was not exactly a hardened drinker but I was getting there . There were seven or eight of us and we had been to the civic disco and then rushed around the Town getting drunker and drunker. There was a sort of uncaring lust for experience ,that drove everyone on and the game became who could go the furthest . I wasn’t the ring leader and in fact I was slightly an outsider ..somewhat un-cool , so I had to go as far as anyone . I smashed a few windows with the others ,and after each adventure on someone’s part ,the shout would go up “Run Away “,… “ Run Away” which got funnier and funnier. We were running and shouting so hard that the sweat was a sheen my face and the streets were like dark rivers you just had to thrown yourself into .What would a party of indestructible gods do next but run along the roofs of a street of cars. Then the Police van pulled up alongside us
A few months later we were handed fines at juvenile court which our parents were obliged to pay. By the time I met the rest for a meeting with our Solicitor I had already been expelled from school and we all laughed about that as well. There is always laughing when you are drinking isn’t there .
I was at University and in uncontrollable lust with a girl called Phillipa . . I had a car that I had persuaded my mother to lend me ,and the two of us went to stay in a B and B in Cirencester . It was sunny again and we spent a lot of time in the chocolate box hills , and a lot of time inside . I drove to a club from which I emerged from so drunk that I could not see .Trying to get back there were three roads at any point I might choose to take and the police spotted me because I was on the pavement going to wrong way up a one way street at about three miles an hour . By this time I was onto spirits and I was literally fighting drunk in the Police station I could only think of Philipa who , it turned out ,was only seeing me to make someone else jealous . …I felt so lost when I found out ,I was sick for weeks , actually physically sick . Imagine loving someone like that ,just someone you liked the look of ....strange

In my thirties , I was in the City and had been there for a while . I had already been married once and this me has little in common with the student of the child . We went to the Capricorn where “ Business’” is transacted between men and women . My boss came over and said ,” Look I’ve got four girls come on lets go“.I have never been keen on prostitutes The truth is , I am terrified of catching anything , and at that time AIDS was much in the news .. Still along I went and I was left with one of the girls ,a leggy African woman about twenty who pulled my suit off as I collapsed on the bed . We had been drinking solidly for about twelve hours and as I look around I hardly recognised myself or the world .There had been was smiles and flickering lights in a dark warm places and here I was on a small white bed in room with the wallpaper coming off . I think I was sobering up …and in any case had little interest in the girl . I suddenly decided to go home . She was so mad she threw my shoes out window and chased me into the street hitting me with a stiletto . It was raining and in my socks I learnt the meaning of the word scamper.

Then there as the time my wife and I went to Windsor and spent the afternoon writing our novel and planning what we would do with the money. Or in Harry’s bar in Paris feeling cool or even the night when we met in The East India Fenchurch Street.

I `m lucky really , I haven’t come to irretrievable harm, although it has been close and I can’t honestly say I would have missed it all. For all the dangers and delusive euphoria there is a truth in drunkenness and to this day I find it hard to trust a man who doesn’t drink. What could he really know about anything . To be a young man and alive and laughing at everything is worth a lot.As a frienf of mine use to say

" Are you here for a good time ..or just a long time ! "

Fight ! Fight ! Fight !

Ken Livingstone, as we know , is planning to use tax payer's money to build an enormous mosque costing an estimated 100M in the docklands. What do you think about it? Wouldn't it be better to spend the money on a new hospital or improved transport facilities?? BIGGER THAN ST PAULS!!!
The plan is for the mosque to be so big that people flying in from all over the world for the 2012 Olympics will it see it as the biggest landmark in London , bigger than St Pauls, Westminster Abbey or Wembley Stadium

Take a second to cast your vote in The Evening Standard on-line poll to determine public opinion about whether a mega mosque should be built for the Olympics.
he vote so far is 62 % in favour. It looks like the Muslim
community is casting its vote in droves, and as usual the Christians
are burying their heads in the sand....

After voting, forward this to as many people as
you can. Here's the link:

Woolmer Murder

Theory A- Itwas a Cricket Loon

Theory B.....

Where is Poi rot ? We have been mulling over the Woolmer case this morning and this is the answer.

We think that Woolmer knew Pakistan , had thrown the game against Ireland and knew therefore that bribes had been taken ,. He must have had a shrewd idea about who was responsible and no doubt confronted them discreetly in recent days. Little did he know that with that meeting he had signed his own death warrant !!! Bum Bum BAAAAAAAAAA!

According to the paper there was no sign of struggle or forced entry so it must have been someone he knew. Given that the suspect is in the Pakistani team now it could be that if you were to watch them play now you will be looking into the eyes of a cold blooded killer , a man who can take another man’s neck in his hands and wring the life out of him

Bum Bum BAAAAAAAAAAAA

Take the Dog Out

.Not since Cruella De Ville updated her entire Spring collection has life been so bad for our four legged friends. First of all they were overtaken by cats as the UK`s most popular pet and then their obesity was savagely lampooned when, this year , the first doggy diet pill was introduced. In Henley and west Berkshire, they are in the grip of a dog-napping epidemic. Animals are being targeted by gangs of dognappers prepared to use violence if confronted. Dogs stolen range from gundogs - Labrador and spaniels worth up to £3,000 - to prize-winning Jack Russells.
Crufts was under siege for cruel and unusual breeding practices , and the mutts everywhere are subject to the illiberal and utterly ineffective Dangerous Dogs Act.
Well it just got worse....................

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) - Malaysian piracy syndicates are trying to assassinate two black labradors after the dogs helped find millions of dollars of fake DVDs and CDs, a report and officials said Thursday.Lucky and Flo sniffed out the discs during a raid by Malaysian officials Tuesday at an office tower in Johor Baru, the capital of Johor state.
"Sources informed the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs that syndicate members are looking for the dogs," said the ministry’s enforcement assistant director, Firdaus Zakaria.
"The dogs are a genuine threat to the pirated disc syndicates, thus the instruction to eliminate them," he was quoted as saying in the New Straits Times.”

Foreigners eh ? When will they learn that dogs and cats are small furry people

Flat Tax

The budget is a it dull isn’t it . The tax trick didn’t last more than a second or two in our office and by yesterday evening the Standard was tearing it to pieces . I have managed to find one journalist who has different view though. Whereas the Telegraph in common with everyone else points out the obvious ……..

“As well as promising to cut the basic rate of income tax from 22p to 20p Brown abolished the 10p starting rate . It means that taxpayers will start paying at 20p in the pound effectively doubling the rate for those on less than £15,000 per year…and the ceiling above which NI will not be payable will rise from £38,840 to £43,000… etc.”

The Conjurors Assistant

In the New Statesman Martin Bright who Guido has already accused of selling out to the Sith looks at it in a rather different way

” Brown was determined to leave No. 11 with a bang rather than with a whimper . His spectacular flourish at the end of his budget speech- a cut in the of 2p in the basic rate of income tax – certainly achieved that.
“The surprise element was reinforced by the abolition of the 10p rate in order to target tax credits at pensioners as well as at the poorest children and families. This may turn out to be genuinely redistributive “

I cannot make any sense of this sort of childish misrepresentation “Reinforced ?” . In what sense can he possibly mean that the one “reinforced” the other. Its sad to see a journalist who was once respected reduced to these depths. He is like the Conjurors`s assistant trying to divert attention away from the “sleight of hand “.

Why do we accept the dishonesty?

The only reason for the manoeuvring on National Insurance (why is it not just called tax ?) , ceilings , time lags and so on ,is to quite deliberately confuse and befuddle the tax payer . Its incredible the extent to which we accept that the Chancellor will mislead us whenever he can . There is even a sort of admiring in-game assessing how well he has done it.

Yet again we have seen the tax burden shift from that which we can see, to that which is hidden from us , and we already live in a country where invisible tax is about the same size as Income tax .This is an ongoing grievous attack on our democracy . David Cameron said a long time ago that his primary aim with taxation was to simplify . Certainly there is no point in promising this and that now which can only be rearranging the furniture The reform has to be in stages. Simplify and then cut . In fact the one will inevitably follow the other and that is the only way to make serious inroads to the state ..

FLAT TAX

Flat tax has been adopted in Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Georgia, Romania, and Macedonia. Proponents believe the simplicity and efficiency of the flat tax is a key reason behind Eastern Europe's dramatic growth.. It may not in its pure form be possible to entirely reach the position here, but the closer we are able to get to it the better it would be both for the economy and for the health of the nation. At the moment we have to watch the puffs of smoke and wait for the experts, why ?. It is our money and nothing is more important to me than the eradication of this small print. It would land a financial adviser in Court in ten seconds.

Don`t Put up With It !

So the question you should be asking when someone is unpicking the endless threads of the intricate Brownite tapestry is not .“ What is Happening?”,It is

“ Why the hell are you hiding things from me ?”

They Can`t Help Themselves You know

Michael Eliot ,( in Time magazine), has some arresting points to make about the glorious fifty years of our beloved EU. I think it is probably safe to say that we do not start from the same place ,although I am not at rabid EU attack hound like Arthurian Legend . I think the following lines give you an idea of “Where he’s coming from “
“The EU has spawned admirers , - how could it not -but not imitators . No other multi national grouping , not Mercosaur in Latin America , not ASEAN in South east Asia - has anything like the powerful institutions of the Union “…. This is a good thing remember. Anyway he has about twenty gifts that this much loved organisation has bestowed on we sulky little Englanders most of which are beyond risible .The first of these is “peace“.

Elliot

“ It was the Americans - with the Marshall plan and then Nato who laid the groundwork but the EU has helped to give Europe its most peaceful 60 years since records were first kept. Heres the big picture France and Germany had fought a war in each of the here generation before the treaty of Rome …blah blah…By locking together economies , societies and political structures , the EU had s made such horrors unimaginable”

New mania -

So what you seem to be suggesting is that without tying themselves like Odysseus as he listened to the Sirens ,the Germans could not trust themselves not to get the old War boots on . Its like an addiction with them . You think they seem ok but they could slip back at any time . A muscle flick above the eye one minute , a flock of screeching panzers blotting out the sunlight the next . Seriously , you mean that nice Jurgen ?

M Thatcher ( nice of you to weigh in Mrs T we need a bit of class around here:)

“My life was transformed by the Second World War….. I drew for the failure of appeasement that aggression must always be firmly resisted . But how ?The ultimate victor of the Allies persuaded me that nations must cooperate in defence of international rules if they are either to resist great evils or achieve great benefits . That is merely a platitude if ……nations lack strong bonds of common loyalty .Weak nations could not have resisted Hitler effectively- indeed those nations that were weak did not stand up to him. So I drew from the Second world war a very different lesson from the hostility to the nation state that evinced by some post war European Statesmen . My view was- and is -that an effective internationalism can only be built by strong nations which are able to call upon the strong loyalty of their citizens to defend and enforce civilised rules of international conduct. An internationalism that seeks to supersede the nation state however will very quickly founder on the reality that few people are prepared to make genuine sacrifices for it .

New mania - Do continue Mrs T you are making excellent sense here……

M Thatcher-It is likely to degenerate into a formula for endless discussion and hand wringing …..

New mania - Good point Thatch and like your dress you saucy Minx !

The truth is that the world after the Second world war was nothing like that which had existed before it , in fact the First and second World Wars are rally the same war. The new enemy was Russia and NATO ,ourselves included, but primarily ,the Americans stood up to the Soviet threat . The EU was worse than useless ,as it has continued to be , notably in the Balkans . Of course one can understand why Germans would be wary of their own nationalism, and also why the French would want to keep them close . What has this to do with us , the people who with indomitable national pride stood alone against the savage Hun ? We have every right to be proud of this country and the French in particular have considerable reason to be somewhat more grateful than they are.Their Second World war was ,after all ,about ten minutes of spineless froggery

There is of course a great deal more to be said about the EU but I feel that is the heart of it we have become embroiled in an organisation against Nationalism in its bones and everything in our history before and since tells us this is wrong . This why the inheritors of Delors will never give up with there Constitution despite being told to bugger off time and time again .This is why we must resist even if that means as some suggest , leaving..

PS
I can`t be bothered with much of the rest of it but this will give an idea at the sort of thing that he deems to be worth sacrificing that nationality that has served us so well

The French Countryside

“There has to be something to be said for the CAP and indeed there is . The timeless contours of La France Profonde - at least south of the wheat and beat belt - are a testimony to the long subsidy of French farming. The French subsidy may offend free trade purists but on a Summer morning in the Dordogne there is something to be said for impurity…..”

I `m not kidding , other highlights are “ Ireland’s revival “, Better Football”,” Airbus”, “ Climate Change …stuff” ,“ Cleaner beaches”…honestly its hard to know if he mean any of this seriously. Giving our money generously to good causes internationally and channelling away from us to little c Galicia. A raft of labour rights including the right to come and work and retire here demanding all sorts of goodies that are enshrined in the Treaty of Rome.

H e summarise by calling the whole thing a “ Stunning Miracle “

Are you stunned ? I think I may be

He is giving the wrong signals .........?

'Mr Tumble, the sign-language presenter on CBeebies, has been accused of signing "I'm fucking you" instead of "I'm happy to see you" when he greets children on the channel. Startled viewers have complained to the BBC, which has denied the allegation.

'Apparently in the Makaton sign language, the signs for fucking and happy are quite similar.'

Which makes sense to me........

When Do You Stop Talking and Act !

I am seriously scared, yet again, I saw a mention in the New Statesman of the Labour chatter about PR . We know what it is all about really. Alec Salmon gave an infuriating argument for the end of the union in the Telegraph .He suggested that “despite our fears about losing the oil revenue “ England was probably a big enough country to go it alone …yes very funny.
At all events, I see less chance of a Union in the future than there was of a new Empire in the 1960s . Labour simply cannot steal any more money from the English via the Barnett formulas. Parts of Glasgow having a life expectancy below retirement age and .in their welfare wasteland drugs hell-holes, the Scots do not see themselves as fortunate,
Labour have failed to buy the votes form their client state on the “ Celtic fringe” and they now accept that in the first past the post system they may never form a government again in England . We will know more soon, but Michael Portillo was the first to point out the dooms-day scenario of PR and the more I think about it the more I think it likely .The scum will throw the Constitution into the sea before they will let the Right have it forever. I really think they will.

PR is a system I detest.Smply put it confuses the one vital question in a functioning democracy . "If I do not like what I see who do I vote against!" By transferable vote systems allied to the fact that the Conservative party have relatively few second choice voters ,Brown will hope to frustrate the clear wish of the English never to have his like in Power again. He will do some shady deal with the Liberals and assorted extremist loons. That will be the end of democracy in this country. You can forget getting out of the EU which would love this ,in fact , you can forget any connection with policy which will all be brokered in Westminster between insiders of the centre.

If he does this, if he dares wreck Parliament completely because he cannot win , then the talking is over. It is time to take to the street with direct action and if necessary violent resistance . What about it Bloggers are you all talk or are you prepared fight Brown in whatever way is left. When will you say I `m not taking this any more !

I know ..if you want the Consevatives to riot make it a Sunday , we`re all at work !

Growth Was Not Brown`s Doing

I am sick of the New labour lie that Gordon Brown has given us the longest period of sustained growth in our history. You may think that, unfortunately, this is true ,but read the sentence again and you will see that it is not. “ Gordon Brown has given ..”.. ah yes …there’s the lie !

I give him credit for not rolling back the Trade Union Liberalisation of the saintly Mrs . T ,but then it was hardly politically possible after the intellectual death of Socialism,( now stalking the land like a reanimated cadaver ) ,. “Differently dead “,Socialism ,is responsible for galloping wage inflation in the Public sector, where the unions are able to act almost as before. Labour’s shrinking constituency is increasingly dominated by the irreducible core of bought and paid for state serfs. Gordon cannot manoeuvre now .
Haven’t the state hirelings done well ! They will be retiring at about 3.30 this afternoon for an endless Edwardian Summer of Croquet and canapés on the lawn. We will be working well into our third re incarnation as rats. Meanwhile 800,000 jobs for which there is no apparent explanation have been created in public administration which ,coincidentally , is about the same number that decides a General Election.

I also give the “Lying Scotsman “, sour and grudging credit for handing over interest rates to the Bank of England ,although why I should I have no idea , it isn’t as if he wanted to. This will soon be tested now inflation is , for most of us, about 7.2% ,whatever the ever changing measurements tell you . Unemployment doesn’t matter, they are always banging on about the end of it , but this has been brought about by a vastly increased Working Population working on contract and flexibly .
The burden of this change to insecurity ,again ,been taken by those in the Private sector . Actual unemployment is now disguised in part time and subcontractor status .There have also been numerous redefinitions of what counts as unemployment and the suspicion is that behind it al, the usual pressures are building .
In the past with such vertigenous levels of taxation we would simply have stopped bothering to work so hard ,but not now .The fact that long hours and endless sacrifice goes on in the working population, is to be explained by the high gearing that we are all obliged to take on with our Mortgages. In other words “fear”, has replaced hope, and we cling on to whatever employment we have no matter what conditions are imposed. No matter how small the marginal reward may be. This suits Brown nicely

Gordon Brown has quite simply been lucky .He inherited a country equipped uniquely to take advantage of the exploding world economy and, by the way, with plenty of sovs in the Piggy bank , The world economy has raced ahead and other English Speaking countries , notably America, have done spectacularly well. We have slowly stagnated under a burden of taxation and red tape despite further spending of social capital by letting in a hoard of cheap labour for the benefit of Big Business that New labour is increasingly in Corporate state relationship with. The proper summary of the Performance of this country under Brown is this .

“The lowest Growth in the Anglo-sphere”

The art of Government is often trying to make the inevitable seem planned and never has this been truer that in the case if Broon`s Economic success. Victorian Governments would not have dared take the credit for the growth of the railways and the factors that have aided Brown have been so far beyond his control as to make his claims to have been responsible laughable. The Government do not make a damn thing , and the Public Sector by any measurement is a Mill stone around the relatively productive Private Sector’s neck . If there s any creed responsible for the clement economic weather it has been the low tax economies of the East . We would do better to learn from them and the US than to assume that the Labour party has got anything right .

Come Fly with me

Come fly with me, lets fly lets fly away

'Woman upgraded after dying in economy during flight from Delhi to London' - Reuters.

If you can use, some exotic booze
Theres a bar in far bombay

'A British Airways passenger travelling first class has described how he woke up on a long-haul flight to find that cabin crew had placed a corpse in his row. The body of a woman in her seventies, who died after the plane left Delhi for Heathrow, was carried by cabin staff from economy to first class, where there was more space. Her body was propped up in a seat, using pillows. The woman's daughter accompanied the corpse, and spent the rest of the journey wailing in grief - The Times.

Come fly with me, well fly well fly away

"I remember looking at this frail, sparrow-like woman and thinking she was very ill. She kept slipping under the seatbelt and moving about with the motion of the plane. When I asked what was going on I was shocked to hear she was dead" - BA passenger Paul Trinder.

Its perfect, for a flying honeymoon - they say
Come fly with me, well fly well fly away !!!!!

PACK UP AND FLY AWAAAAAAAAY !

Back to Iraq

As I was saying , I was chatting with thinly veiled acrimony, to an International Aid worker ,and he was telling me how terrible Iraq was in the traditional sobbing tones. He had recently been to the country, and claimed that the US were killing more civilians than the delicately titled “ Insurgents” , as in ,Al Qaeda and Bathist murderers.
This seems most unlikely to me and I `d be interested in anyone’s views on the relative murderousness of the US army and the factions. Anyway this conversation caused me to return to the subject of Iraq. I had conclcuded the Liberals were right but for the wrong reasons , but now I `m not so sure .
In the Sun today there is a quote from a Poll conducted by the Opinion Research Business. Of 5000 Iraqis polled six out of ten deny they are living though a civil war experience .49% say their lives were better since the war and only 26% said that they were better off under the old ogre . The rest were undecided or said it was about the same . So very nearly twice as many actual Iraqis as not, believe the war has been a benefit. Considering that under Saddam Hussein there was no hope of any change for the better ever, we are obviously on the right track.

I have never felt that improving the world was the main reason for going into Iraq. The motivation for us , was always to support America ,and therby maintain our Global security . However, if we have also achieved an improvement in the lives of the Iraqi people as well , why is it that there is such wide spread agreement that this was a dreadful mistake?

John Howard’s Australia , a country I increasingly admire , take a very different view .They are increasing troops for Iraq and they remain committed to the fight for democracy in the Arab World . Their splendidly Politically incorrect Foreign minister Alexander Downer has been robust in his contempt for the appeasers and apologists like us .

For those who think that the war has made the world a more dangerous place he simply remarks “..thats like saying let Hitler take France and that will secure things a little more..”. Here are some more refreshingly candid remarks from down under

1Guntanamo ( and the lack of trials)- Downing

‘…You are entitled to hold those who are engage in hostilities against you until the end of that war. …you tie your hands behind your back if you treat this as a normal breach of law. “Law” enforcement, does not protect our community ‘

2 Muslims in Australia ( Peter Costello Treasurer)

‘…Basically people who don`t want to be Australians and they don`t want to live by Australian values and understand them , well they can basically clear off !”

3 Democracy and the Arab World ( Why the war has reduced Terrorism)- Downing

“ partly this is because the Indonesian government has promoted the idea of moderate Islam . The world `s largest Islamic country is a vigorous democracy where people are able to dissent….that’s why I believe that democracy is an important way of defeating terror . The claim that the” Brown guys”, don`t do democracy is just outrageous . So if you happen to be Arab or Asian you are supposed to enjoy oppression? Just bring on the evidence “

Crucially , they see domestic multiculturalism as part of the war . In a series of tough immigration and citizenship measures they are ensuring that Australia has the will to protect itself. The department of Immigration and Multicultural affairs has been tellingly renamed The Department of immigration and citizen ship”.
Australians see Iraq as part of world wide battle for freedom , and this includes within Australia . This is exactly the same way large parts of Islam see it “.As an eternal battle between belief and non belief “ …by belief they mean theirs.

The enemy are are more than happy with the role and the Bathists did think the Arabs only functioned with un-thinking love rather than critical thought. The only people who disagree seem to be Guardianistas of the West .

This invertebrate appeasement at the first sign of difficulty is really decadent self loathing as patented by the originator of all Fisks , Robert Fiske .
Once being stoned, mugged , brutally attacked and left bleeding in the dust on the Afghan Pakistan Border this was what he wrote,
” I understood, I couldn’t blame them for what they were doing. In fact if I were the Afghan Refugees of Kila Abdullah , …., I would have done just the same to Robert Fiske or any other Westerner I could find …”…the attacker was “ Innocent of any crime except that of being a victim of the world “

Personal responsibility is gone and the implicit assumption is that almost any barbarity is forgivable in what Mr. Downing calls. “The brown Guys “. Every time we show weakness we encourage our enemies and I begin to see that we have let Liberal bleeding heart doubts infect us almost without noticing .

One of Us ! Good Luck Janice

Ellee was plugging Janice Small for selection at Calder Valley . She is of course , a woman , in marketing and not a local which is triple whammy of a bloody bad start ,so I suspected she was going to be a Liberal in Blue clothing . Pressing her to establish her position I must say I was delighted to see a good strong response, some of this is below.
I accept that s he is ,“ One of us “, and I think we could do with a lot more like her. My only question would be as to whether she has held these opinions for a long time or is simply adopting a convenient position pending full Camerinisation.

Immigration

It is a start to close our borders. There are vast swathes of immigrants in this country that are insular and expect us to protect their culture whilst having no regard for our civil liberties and rights as citizens. We cannot pander to the middle-class, left wing Guardianistas. It is because this view is paramount in most of our media that decent people are turning to the BNP. I will change that in any constituency I am lucky enough to serve.

Benefits and Housing

I am no liberal Conservative. Yes, you are right the housing and benefits system needs a complete overhaul together with ’society’s’ tolerance of this abuse. ‘Society’ and the State has to say that it is not acceptable to have babies without a partner or income; it is not acceptable to lose control of your teenagers; it is not acceptable to have 12 year olds roaming the streets at 11pm, and so it goes on. There has to be hard sanctions for those who abuse and take from us who work hard and raise their families within a moral code.

Good luck Janice …you know I must be a sick puppy, the moment I discover that a woman agrees with me I immediately find them twice as physically attractive. Alan Clark had the same problem with the “Lady”. Janice is looking better all the time ….wierd eh.

Feeble Excuses Dept.

Oh dear oh dear , off we went yesterday to see some friends of my wife who are starting up a curry business. We were there for the free trial. Also present were Andy and his wife , Andy is hard Left Labour supporter an actor and a Spurs supporter .
Realising the imminent danger I was under strict spousal instructions not to get drunk and not to talk about Politics.
I managed that pretty well until as about the fourth large glass of wine when in walked another chap who was an international Aids worker. A verbal fracas ensued and I am deep in the dog house . Also being pie faced I did not write my blog which I have an idea for. Now I am busy with sordid commerce ...

In the meantime I look forward to being supplied with unflattering pictures of Justin Hinchcliffe the dynamic leader of Tottenham and Haringey Conservatives following his cruel publication of a friends least attractive moment. I am told that Justin is getting fatter by the day ,and in this excess he is clearly following the example of our beloved leader as mentioned in the new Book,” The Rise of the New Conservative “

I know I shouldn’t but I cannot help enjoying Cameron`s life of squierarchical privilege juxtaposed with his futile attempts to look like and ordinary bloke .
Interesting that similar material about Tony Blair was suppressed for so many years isn’t it….

“David Cameron once flew on Concorde to the US to celebrate a class mates birthday. The Eton boys tucked into caviar Salmon and beef and a Master recalls the 11 year old Cameron toasting him with a glass of Dom Perignon’69 saying “ Good health Sir “

Dragged himself up by his bootstraps didn`t he . No wonder he understands the fears of the aspirational working class and the lowermiddle-class so well ..

Anyway a stream of consciousness load of waffle is currently coalescing into monstrous form in my fevered mind that I will get to later today
