Could Do Better

On Hopi`s blog today he was gushing about the latest Labour PPB Fighters and Believers”. If you bother with it , and avoid spontaneous combustion ,you will be struck by the clammy religiosity . Timmy Worstall meanwhile was pouring scorn on the notion that Jesus was a socialist . A presumably sanctimonious leftie feels that in an eventful life Jesus found time to register support for progressive taxation here:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour. (Luke 4, verse 18 .. )
So are the left good ? Roy Hattersley thought that no teenage girl had ever got pregnant to get a flat and , (its good this …) , the fact he would not believe it showed he was a good person. Pinko Stephen Fry wishes to take up US citizenship ( Not Swedish ? well fancy) , causey U2 continue to avoid even Irelands low tax, by routing income through the Netherlands , Billy Bragg conducts his multicultural sermons from all white Dorset and Polly Toynbee leaves her big muddy carbon footprints all over the place, when she jets off to her Italian retreat.. I could go on until judgement day and I seem to recall Jesus getting Biblical about hypocrites

Yes we can laugh at James Purnell`s principled exit from the limelight as the heat came on about his tax funded property development racket, but if hypocrisy consists of expressing views we cannot live up to ,doesn`t that show we need hypocrites ?
I do not see it as a the role of the state to stuck its grubby fingers into my soul and I`d guess that getting other people to die on the cross was never a plan B for the the Saviour still doubt remains .Isn`t wanting to keep my money , shall we say , imperfectly loving of my fellow man ? I think I can answer this in a number of ways ………but not today.
