On occasion on this blog I have worried about the rampaging misogyny I see every day. The whorish way women are required to dress and the way sexual licence has been used to trap women into one role .
I am therefore delighted to see brainy Gail Trimble get a lot of attention . What a fine example of young womanhood. A cranium the size of Jupiter, a modest academic manner ,and an unaffected charm that was a pleasing contrast with the slap caked leering hostesses of the airwaves we endure .
It is a myth that men do not find clever women attractive, of course they do ,and a certain bland homogeneity of appearance is altogether too much of an obsession of our silly age . It is also a myth that we are all the same and do not need our elites .We do ,and the habit of jealous egomania that animates the left is all to often found on the Libertarian right . Anyay Gail Trimble a vision of English beauty a ferocious quizzer and a much needed antidote to these Jordan and Jade besotted times . Lets find more role models like her to tell women from all backgrounds that they can be so much more than a page three girl a pop star or a WAG ...

Definitely!
I have to confess I quite admire Mary Beard. She's on my top 10 of who I'd most like to have dinner with list.
What a blinder Gail played! Well done that girl.
Though I believe we should sing out for Jade too.
I am full of admiration for the courageous way that Jade is coping with the intolerable lot that fate has handed her. How many of us would have displayed Jade's courage if we'd been tragically struck down with cancer at just 27?
Jade is in serious danger of giving chavs a good name. God bless that girl, in her own way and on her own terms, she's playing a blinder to.
Trimble is quite unpopular amongst some. I go to my mum's to watch University Challenge, as I haven't got a TV, & she hates her for reasons I can't fathom.
She is viewed as arrogant & contemptous, but I think that's just nerves. I also think she is a bit precious & would be really, unreasonably upset by doing badly which may be a result of her upbringing & that.
Did you see how sad she looked when her team was behind? I wanted to put my arms around her & console her at that point. I do find her quite attractive. :)
But I'm still not sure wy such a big deal is made anyway. She has appeared on a TV show, admittedly a very good one & done extremely well, but it's still no big shakes. I thought serious & high-minded types were above all this celebrity toss.
I also tried to add her as a friend on Facebook, but she refused my request. Bit o' fail there :)
By "some", I don't just mean my mum, I mean a load of people. You should see some of the bile at Comment is Futile & elsewhere.
Bunch of knobs on that site anyway.
There is, of course, the issue of whether the ability to rote memorise lists of useless facts, highbrow facts or otherwise, really engages any form of intelligence.
We all know that it's the inique way with which those facts are understood, cross referenced and used - viz Einstein's 1% inspiration - that transforms clever s*ds into achievers. Perhaps that's why a, top of his year, academic friend of mine with a photographic memory has achieved so little?
Auntie Flo.
Daily Mail have also linked Jade and Gail on its banner today.
Are you in meeja?
Hi Bill Quango,
I'm not in media, I have a specialist recruitment consultancy. What's your profession, are you a politician?
I cannot imagine why any young lady would be distant with Asquith. I would have thought a "Bit of rough" might be just what she needs
Hey BQMP I linked Jade and thingy why doe no-one think I am in the media ?
Who is Mary Beard Phillipa ?
Sorry, she's a Cambridge don, Newms
No one would think you were in the MSM Newmania.
A member of the blogger's Hamas perhaps.
Lobbing verbal rockets into the center of the Liberal Elite and watching them scurry in panic. Then just as they assemble even more ludicrous arguments bombarding them again. This does not count as journalism.
Even though it is immense fun for you and all your readers. Myself included.
Ha ha BQ I am very ordinary and I try to stay that way
