As long ago as 1997, an Institute of Public Policy Research study concluded that Britain had become a less equal society since Labour came to power. The gap between rich and poor has widened. That's all you need to know about the "Iron Chancellor" who has managed the whole of domestic policy since '97 while Blair of Arabia was gunning for glory in the Third World. In his most recent remarks on Broon, Blair declined (yet again) to offer a meaningful endorsement of Gordo as his successor, referring instead to the "myriad of complimentary things I have said previously"... Blair, despite his manifold faults and vast ego, knows a loser when he sees one.
