I rate Aaronovitch and he's a nice chap.

If you ask me, he is wrong to support this policy but right on quite a few things.

You said a bit ago that this is a regional as well as a class thing. Well, isn't that the point? It shafts people, most of whom are Conservative voters in safe seats. Your floating voters generally like the idea of restricting child benefit because to be honest they haven't thought about what is wrong with it.

Blair shafted the core vote often enough but neither he nor Brown (who at one stage enjoyed a surge in the polls that is totally forgotten now) lost support until their extensions of state power finally alienated people. In the same way, Camoron thinks that a businessman living in some town in Hampshire or a farmer in North Shropshire is never going to support any other party so he might as well court apolitical people in the midlands, on median incomes, by saying that now we have evidence we're all in it together.

As I say 83% of people agree with what the government has dne, I don't share the majority view but they have done it uite neatly if you think about it in purely tactical terms rather than whether it is a good policy.

Hi Philipa, good to see you!

I've met Aaronovitch and have a photo of him giggling with my daughter. He went on about capitalism and I said: it's alright for socialists like you, you're rich. He nodded ascension.

I did my impression of David Miliband's authoritarian and money mad body language for him and he looked shocked because he knows DM well and recognised the truth of it.

Aaronovitch said, "do Cameron", so I did. He looked even more shocked as he recognised the truth of Cameron's 'this is what I am" honest Joe body language too. Not sure I could do it now though.

Aaronovitch is a very good looking man for his age, it's hard to dislike him, but his views are right off the wall.

Hey newms, I called in with the following:

Either the tomb of the
free will you be
Or the refuge against
oppression

Chilean national anthem.

P- Already seen that on Lewes Forum actually its a new Drniking come shouting club , could be good

DCF I follow you thinkign and you are quite right. Nowhere to go - is the problem and the knowledge that under New Labour it would be even worse .
Still this is how a Party loses power , alienating people one by one

Hi Flo ...well I may meet him to but not until next Feb
