Gollywog-gate

As you may know Carol Thatcher has been kicked off the One show for using the word Gollywog in a private coversation. She was reported by BBC staff. Much debate has ensued about political correctness but for me there is a deeper problem of the sort of people we are becoming .
A few years ago my father was caught three times on the same road by a new and well concealed speed camera.( They were a new horror then). He duly lost his licence. One rainy evening ‘allegedly’ he chose to take the car down to a Council meeting. A Liberal Democrat Councillor called the police and Pa N was obliged to pay a large fine after having been hauled out of his house and thrown in a cell.
The Liberal Councillor in question was the sort of nasty small minded vindictive gnat I cannot abide .When not treating those actually around him vilely this Liberal ( a type you will recognise ) was as keen as most on pontificating about Africa or something .If he was terribly concerned for the legal point he could have had a quiet word , he could have quietly said look don’t do it again , but he wanted to take some sort of spiteful revenge..I like to think that no Conservative would be such a bossy little self important pain as to tattle unnecessarily because Conservatives , unlike others , conceive of behaving well as something you actually do to those around you .
Whoever snitched on Carol Thatcher is the sort of person who would snitch to the Gestapo or the Stasi and many many did . All rules offer an opportunity for petty paying back and sheer mean spiritedness and that is what stands out about this silly matter .What sort of a craven toad would go so far as to “Tell teacher” about a mis-use of language for who at the very most a private “excuse me no offence meant “ was required ? What sort of beetle man and woman are we making?

Excellent point, Newms. And v.funny, Mark.

I used to love the Robinsons golly and they removed him through PC pressure. I liked the badges and everything, he was lovely. What's wrong with the Robinson golly??

Bring back the Robinsons Golly!

this seems to be the way of the world now a days...it's easier to sue someone than to talk to them and make resolution...hell, over here you don't even want to help someone in dire trouble for fear they will sue you later for some small thing that could possibly go wrong...when we make the world so politically correct that we no longer participate in the interactions but abuse the laws and those representing them (police not government officials) we go down a path i don't think any of us want to see the end of...

The irony is that these Nazis bring some similar dark instincts out in me in a horrible negative loop. I would happily see them up against the wall and shot - and then I'd have a nice cup of tea and never give it another thought.

A friend of mine told me how she dealt with one of these tin pot dictators.

On one occasion, distracted and crying over the serious illness of close family member, a friend of mine inadvertently went through a red light. When she reached her destination, a car pulled up beside her. the driver, with a young lad who must have been his young son beside him, wound down his window, smiled smarmily, and told my friend that he'd followed her car - for about a mile - in order to tell her that she'd broken the law.

My friend's reply: "Why do you keep doing this to me? I've told you that you have to stop harassing me like this. Our affair is over, why won't you accept it? I can't see you again and nothing will change my mind!"

The term for all of this is "cultural Marxism". By controlling the language and permissions they change the way we think and act at a subconscious level, and weaken us ready for complete control — which is coming.

I agree and I have watched with horror as New Labour have colonised the word "Fair" and chnaged it to mean socialist
