"Intensely relaxed about people getting filthy rich”.

Brown is happy as a pig in shit with all this statesmanlike posturing in other people’s misery isn’t he . I bet the very second the door is closed he jumps up and kisses himself, a course of action recommend by J. Brown , pop crooner of note . Even Labour sycophant Mary Ridell ( Telegraph ) admitted that he is partly the architect of our woes by virtue of a WAG spending spree coupled with incompetence. Well quite, and yet there he is polled as trusted to steer us through the economic crisis ...go figure?
The Conservative Party still has good lead but the dead duck is flapping a bit . It just seems so wrong when what we have all been saying about New Labour for so long has been entirely vindicated . They dismantled the real economy by taxing and regulating it to death and we thought we would face the usual prospect of Labour running out of money .
It was , lets admit it , bewildering when not only did they not ,but growth figures continued to be posted that entirely undermined the Conservative Position .There must be a trick to it ...we muttered sulkily ...and what do you know we were all right . The property boom was an illusion the services economy hung from sky hooks and we are now bankrupt with an unemployable underclass little real economic activity running out of energy and stuck with vast rentier class of parasites on final salary pensions

Now this zombie buffoon ,by virtue of being boring , implies that he would not be a party to the Champagne swilling derivatives cocaine fuelled Party ...unlike some he could mention. Lie ! He has been engaged in soixante neuf with any slick willy going in the City. The typical Scotsman, one moment its tea and biscuits wi` yoor granny next its hard liquor and a knife fight . Never did New Labour stop to appreciate and understand the warm beer middle ground of SME`s that employs nearly 80% of us. They went straight to the Casino. A chorus of oddly identical glove puppets singing the praises of the City sstill echos ...
Ed Balls Addressing the British bankers Association: 11.10.06
..” as I have travelled around the City and the UK- indeed around the world – I have seen first and the strength and depth of talent and reputation which underpins our truly global financial services industry ...”
Or Chancellor Alistair Darling who had this to say when he addressed the Worshipful Society of International Bankers
..” as I have travelled around the City and the UK- indeed around the world – I have seen first and the strength and depth of talent and reputation which underpins our truly global financial services industry ...”
That’s what you call “On message “.Brown himself was a little more to the point ...” Income tax revenues have risen as a result of bonuses , I think it is often forgotten that bonuses are a bog source of extra income tax...”.Papas Got Brand New Bag now though .....” short term deals ...no relation to long term performance ...blah blah”, but of course New Labour was really in the words of Mandy “Intensely relaxed about people getting filthy rich”. They cared not how .

Brown's "Statesmanlike Posturing" could have been a factor in the US Congress' rejection of the rescue package for the banks last week. If there's one thing Joe Sixpack hates even more than bailing out Wall Street it's the idea that he's being asked to help bail out a foreign market (in this case The City). Brown's presence in Washington last week prior to the vote would have done much to encourage this thought, and nothing to dispel it. He didn't need to go, and couldn't have done much more than hold the coats for everybody.

Churchill and Roosevelt dealt with far more serious matters for years using nothing more than a crackly transatlantic telephone cable. And how much does a Boeing 747 cost to charter again? He's not so much a Jonah as a meddling clot.

Strange you criticise Brown for wanting to be like a Conservative.

I'd have thought it fair to say his policies failed to advance conservatism, but its a bit cheap for you to say that he shouldn't be trying to walk like a Conservative.

It's almost like you are against conservative beliefs. Have you been infected from hanging round on all those wishy-washy sites? Or are you just a pervy self-hater?

I'm starting to think you messed up by missing basic English lessons. Maybe it's just because you can't fit the sense of two sentences into your head at the same time.

Or is that why you are so fond of one word paragraphs.

'Buffoon'? now who and what are you refering to? Are you trying to project your own insecurities onto others because the fear of your own inadequacy is so great?

There's one subtle difference between the Balls quote and Darling's which you (and Private Eye) missed. (Clue. Darling dropped on of Balls' words). You didn't nick them from the Eye without acknowledging the fact and giving them credit did you? Perish the thought!

My previous comment should, of course, have read: "Darling dropped one of Balls' words".
My typing's not what it was...
