Rape The Horrifying Truth

I like to be cheeky with the girls and I do not accept that the answer to the low conviction rate on rape is to assume men to be guilty by one means or another. Perhaps its good to be reminded of just how horrifying an experience it can be and this account is chilling
The victim`s account : ( Name changed)

"I was raped in 1991 by a client when I was working for an escort agency. It was completely premeditated: he had the rope ready to tie me with, and the implements on hand to torture me with. When I finally got free, after a 4½ hour ordeal, I phoned the police. The policewoman I spoke to said it was "unfortunate", but as it was my word against his - and I was a sex worker - no one would believe me.
I insisted on making a statement because I was sure he would strike again. Nothing was done, ..(she decribes her long fight for justice) ... He eventually served just seven (years )
I was the one given the life sentence. He destroyed my life: because of the instruments he used to torture me, I had to have a total hysterectomy, and couldn't work or look after my children, and my marriage eventually broke down. The trial was a terrible ordeal,........
"

Jesus !Seven Years ? Why should he ever come out ?

Glad to see you are seeing the light N. I've been propositioned and set upon many times, been stalked and generally put through hell by men, half of them married, who want what they want and are just looking for a way to take it. I've learned that being nice and gentle and polite is not an option. Don't give an inch, DON'T share your taxi, DON'T let them in your house even if it is raining and there's half an hour to wait for their bus. Keep safe! It's just so miserable that you can't trust anyone and you invariably do because most rapists aren't strangers :-(

Is that right Phillipa , how awful , determined efforts of persuasion are not the same thing as rape though are they and you are a bit of a flirt.....

( I `m just joking ...)

Somehow I knew you'd say that and I'm not 'a bit of a flirt' if 'flirt' means a come-on to casual sex, I like a laugh and a joke which is something entirely different. What's a woman to do - walk around in a hijab and not smile lest a man gets the wrong idea??

I don't want to go into all the details but one of the examples, and I won't say if it was lesser or greater, is being dragged by the hair across a tarmac drive into some blokes house. And yes, I did try to get away.. I do know the difference Paul. Most women do. Unfortunately I can't say the same for most men.

Of course P , sounds horrible

Sounds bloody awful, Pippy.

I couldn't even get aroused if the woman wasn't interested in me. I can't understand how a chap could take forcefully as the vital ingredient (the woman's desire) is missing.

Back to the escort. Clearly a dangerous occupation and WHY if she was married too ? I wouldn't want my wife doing it. The same could be said of the married client I suppose. But there are clearly issues of witness integrity from the outset that would have caused great difficulty in the test of evidence which is to be of a standard which is 'beyond reasonable doubt'

The simple fact is that it is wicked to hurt people. 7 years is not enough in this case.

Prostitution ought to be legalised within approved establishments.
