Wish our system worked like that!
Good isn`t it
My colleague tells me that he was actually refused a visa for here too, but I guess it's easier to refuse in Oz!
Australia are also moving to refuse asylum to HIV sufferers. Absolutely the best thing to do and we should do it too in the UK, as far as I am concerned.
Turning away HIV/AIDS sufferers is a terrible thing, but it is the best of the available, yet awful, options.
Yes, disease control is very important. If it was an animal disease affecting livestock it would have been irradicated long ago. We can't eradicate a human disease, but we can protect our countrymen from its spread.
Agree - Australia is a proper country so what can we expect ?
A slight change of subject - make sure you are seated, Mr N.
Are you sitting comfortably ?
Yes ?
You made The Sun yesturday - The Whip.
Is there a way for the US to decline re-admission for Snoop???
Oh for god`s sake I didn`t did I EK...this is getting a bit scary
Good god its a woman...hallo Jenny, you certainly brighten up the look of things around here
Roger we are not in a country to help people around the world we are in it to keep our stuff. There have been bad mistakes about allowing disease in which the BNP have capitalised on. Unpleasant stuff and the BNP at its disgusting worst nonethless....
Australia is a proper country so what can we expect ?
You mean a country that is run for the benefit of its own citizens and not for the benefit of its politicians' careers?
What a crazy situation!
Sadly my scanner is not up to it or I would have posted the article for you, Mr N.
The email address for The Whip is:
katherine.bergen@the-sun.co.uk
Personally I think the only reason they've published your story is because it was a bloody fine witticism on your part. I'd like to see you go far - that's bad news for you BTW. (he he)
I'm about to do a transcript of the article on my own blog. It'll be there in 10 mins.
And The Times:
Thankfully for Paul Newman, the Islington Tory councillor, he is not facing voters next week. Writing on political pundit Iain Dale’s blog, he referred to voters in one of the borough’s wards as “almost bestially stupid . . . they live from road kill and sleep under newspaper”. He later told the Islington Tribune that he was talking about his Tory colleagues. Is that less damaging, electorally?
I you sure that a new home 50 miles away from Islington North is far enough, N ?
How about France, or maybe Tuscan's olive grove ?
Thanks EK , what about Australia ? Thankyou C as well yes I`ve seen that one.
Yeeesh
Naah ! Unless you'd fancy a bit of argy BARGY - nudge-nudge wink-wink SAY NO MORE !
Kevin Andrews is spot on. Howard has some ministers with their heads screwed on right.
Did you really say this, INM?
...he referred to voters in one of the borough’s wards as “almost bestially stupid . . . they live from road kill and sleep under newspaper”...
That's outrageous! I'm coming to live in your constituency so's I can vote for you.
Every Blog needs at least one!
The Times, I'm impressed, and you did it all on your own without a press officer - that's the beauty of blogging.
Not beautiful for me Ellee . I was NOT refferring to the residents of islignton but i `ll never get rid of it now . I was also in the Sun
Bargey (minus Argie) sounds good to me , not sure Mrs N would approve
NM, I agree.
This was an example of what I (with brain numbing regularity) term a "least worst" option. The least worst is to turn them away. To allow them in is a nightmare in long term, broad, practical terms, even though the immediate, one-on-one bleedin heart "oh my god, you are sending them back to a country with no treatment" bleat makes one sound cruel and heartless if all they can see is the person, their origin, its treatment levels and their disease.
And should we turn away people with cancer, Mr Thornhill
There's much to be admired in the forthright attitude of our antipodean brethren.
And in yours, Mr N. I'm still chuckling at your original comments - you have a most superb word-sense.
Congrats on the nationals picking it up. You'll make London Mayor yet ...
Yup, you were my write-in candidate on the ConservativeHome survey (go there now, folks)
You are the man we need: someone who can out-Ken Ken himself in the Blurted Insult department. Do you have any good lines on jewish reporters?
Oh bloody hell. I was not ...oh who cares
Crikey, the Sun as well, you've been splashed all over the world then, but for the wrong reason. I bet you and Croydonian have had a good chinwag over this.
It will soon be forgotten Ellee...I hope
Why do you find me confusing? I think my comments make sense!
You make total sense Jenny, you are a genius
Are you being sarcastic or do you really mean it???
You are in your twenties pretty and Literary ...how the hell do I know what I mean.
Its out of my hands..
(But you seem a good egg)
For the Best of British do we now have to go downunder?
Seems damned good sense to me. Wish we could see some of it here.
Hi Phillipa nice to see you.,Did you see I made the Sun yesterday. You may bask in my reflected glory if you so please
Thanks, you too!
I'm just coming to terms with the honour. Does this mean I have to buy the drinks next time? I knew there'd be a catch. Well at least let me take pictures and brag?
'Oh yes, known him for ages dontcha know, degree in English (he is so well read) oh yes I agree; very handsome (and so well.. liked) and rich? Oh God dripping with money (and so well.. housed)'
I thought we kicked him out too....or was it another rapper?
I await further news of you in the Sunday's newmania. Perhaps you will feature in my weekly review...
I think you should have a column
:-)
Its pretty funny being in the papers Mr N! Perhaps they will invite you on Newsnight - will you wear a bag on your head? I would demand a right of reply Mr N -perhaps some amusing recipes for badger or cat?
Letsh have a commonshense revolushion here in Englaland!
Something tells me that young Ed had just returned from an evening of carousing and frivolity when he put that post in.
Yesh Ltsh
Perhaps you will feature in my weekly review...
Then I can die a happy man.
Mr N
Having sampled the donner kebabs available at those well frequented take-aways around Newington Green I completely fail to understand the exception being taken to the 'road kill' part of your comment.
In answer to your query in an earlier thread, the establishment in question was in the Clerkenwell ward. However, if you would like to give me the name of the Upper Street venue, I would be only too happy to repeat the performance there.
I was not refferring to thre residents of .....sigh.....
Cannot remember GBBF but there have also been a few tense moments over my wish to smoke in the smoking area over the years.
BTW on occassion there has been a meeting in "Meat world ?" you are welcome to attend the next one
N, you were correct, but my post was in response to the one you made on my blog which suggests you may have been in a similar state....!
Drunk or in a rush Ed it looks much the same . Actually I rarely drink nowadays , used to a fair bit , but if I`ve started I do tend to finish

I think there should be protection of NHS services paid for by British taxpayers. As for contageous disease the protection of British citizens should come first and foremost in government policy.
(I can only occaisionally get access to your blog, Justin)
Who is this Mr. Snoopy fellow? I am usually quite au fait with the latest trend in the pop scene but he seems to have slipped by me. Is he related to Mr.Mutleythedog? Who are his troops? Where's my knitting?
I'll let you off... But what were you trying to say?

Well that does seem reasonable and although the stats I see make it look an insignificant effect they told us that about immigration for years until the lies came out .
I only trust what I see around me now . They tell me crime is improving locally and yet more people seem to suffer criminal offences
Sadly the legacy of distrust from the Blair years infects everything with its contagion
We should be protected
Ratty
Snoopy has been done for possesion of firearms and allegedly killed someone and drugs of course but i like his stuff actually .
In fact having danced a gay gavotte to the sounds of the Norty Nowf Lunnun Collectif a month or two ago I am quite keen on rap.
I like the way Aussies talk though
they seem to have missed out on the smoothly smooth lard injected into all UK politicians

Mr Ratty -Snoop is my beotch! I fear you are not as au fait with the pop scene as you think - I have accidentally eaten your knitting after it attacked me whilst I was asleep on the sofa...
Good grief. I am renouncing my citizenship immediately. This type of stance utterly ruins our reputation of being a nation of convicts and crooks.
I find the notion of Australia being a proper country run for its citizens hilarious. Try living there - its so bloody marvellous that all of us have left and come over here....
Well a Tory making the Times ain't exactly news is it.
Snoopy has been done for possesion of firearms and allegedly killed someone and drugs of course but i like his stuff actually .
Oh my lord, doesn't he sound a truly awful sort of man - I wont be buying any of his records that's for sure.
Jungle Jane.
Come and live on the edge with me. I promise you excitement.
Try living there - its so bloody marvellous that all of us have left and come over here....
Lots of us do , what the matter with it then JJ ...its has a marvellous PM
If I were the U.K., I wouldn't want Snoop either.
Too bad we can't ask him not to come back to the U.S.
hallo Ruthie what brings you here I wonder I have noticed you around
You know... curiosity...
