Arsenal Rumour

Believe you me people in Islington care a thousand times more about this than about our Coucil.

'Arsene Wenger was last night told he had signed European football's prospect - who could be the new Thierry Henry. French prodigy Gilles Sunu will join Arsenal when he turns 16 next month from tiny Chateauroux, whose vice chairman Patrick Trotignon said: "He plays as an out-and-out striker like Thierry Henry, but he can also play in midfield."

I should explain I am sort of experimenting with daily blogging so I`ve gone a bit off topic

I absolutely loath football.

But here's a thing; Frank Skinner who I like very much said that you cannot be dispassionate it. He (charitably) aknowledges that my position on the subject is as manly as any other; well thanks for that, Frank - could you now impart that bit of wisdom on all the other wankers in the terraces ?

Quite like it myself Kev but I was only seeing if I could post from here. I prefer rugby

I do like French footballers, I find them very graceful on the field. I remember missing a friend's birthday party one year because I wanted to see Cambridge United's new French goalie in action, he was very sexy, they do seem to have that edge. I also have a signed photo of David Ginola too, I used to have a soft spot on him.

You and many women I suspect Elee. This was just a bit of an experiment actually . I `m reying to find a ways to keep going but re-balance a bit as we discussed. Paradoxically I use to love football and rugby but I don1`t have the time to folow it anymore

MOAN MOAN eh

there is a long discussion to be had here about how market forces have improved viewing of football whilst simultaeneously wrecking the competitive edge.

Arsenal are one of the leading exponents in ruining the game; all for filthy lucre.

The US system for sports is much better. College education for the kids and a fair shareout to teams to ensure turnover of winners.

That is rubbish CU Arsenal held out with having a strong youth team from which they brought many good players through , long after others had given up. Arsenal cannot stand alone but they have been a bulwark of all that is true and right in the game .

The US system does make for rather tedious sport somehow don`t you think.

Hmm.

Why so many imported players ?

Its much cheaper than bringing home grown players through

What about parochialism ?

Recruitment of players from abroad (afar) when does Arsenal stop being Arsenal ?

Or a big London football team changing name to say IRR FC (Ivan's Rusky Rubles) ?

Dang - a bit like that joke about the old broom (two new heads and three new handles) what's left ? Is the only thing connecting the premiership with its historic roots geography and team colour ?

Oh, that's the answer: wash once a week, eat raw onions and shrug with Gallic arrogance all the time.
