The Usual Suspects

The devil's best trick is to persuade you that he doesn't exist!" Verbal from The Usual Suspects

Sixty years ago one of its progenitors Altiero Spinelli wrote of the EU , that its aim should be to stealthily assemble the components of a super state and only declare its true purpose at the end of the process by unveiling a "Constitution"

Exactly. The whole undemocratic edifice of the EU is based on deception. Lies and deceit are part of it's immoral fabric, lies are structured into the core of being.

Little wonder then that most EU centric politics and politicians seem to inhabit another world from the rest of us. Both world's spin, but ther world of politics is serious danger of becoming little else but spin.

DK is right in his analysis of Tory thinking but even though the Tories won't commit to taking us out of the EU I would still much rather it was them negotiating treaties and policies than Brown/Miliband.

Even Major was more of a sceptic than Brown.

I don1t think he is right Ed.

1 It is not 50 / 50 if there was refeerendum tommorow to get out a large majority would stay in
2 this makes what the Conservatives say a lot harder than he allows
3 You can do nothing out of government as long as a majority are clear they do not want to leave

I doubt this, n. Our People's Referendum in Harlow is revealing huge animosity among local people here, not just to the Treaty but to the whole undemocratic edifice of the EU.

On the whole it seems to be younger people who are more sympathetic the EU, however, spend a few minutes discussing the issues withe them and even they don't want to be part of a Superstate.
