Its More Than a Cake

Grrrr, read a really annoying anti marriage post by Mrs. Smug ,as she should be known, and this is typical of the content … "So there we have it: decent childcare is less important to children's welfare if their parents work than the fact you cut a cake and grimaced through the speeches together. "..Oh darling how too dreadfully modern of you ...We didn't have a cake , couldn`t afford a proper wedding but it meant something then and it still does .Anyway I have been setting this pest straight .....
..Only one in twelve married couples part within five years of the child’s birth for unmarried couples that number is ONE IN TWO. Got that ?
Fucking hellski woman ,we have had New Labour sticking its grubby fingers into every conceivable area of social engineering for ten years . This is a minor but symbolic reversal of Brown’s anti Marriage tax changes . No -one is disadvantaged and you are getting your knickers in twist , What’s the matter do you like children suffering ?...

ONS showed that children of single parent families are about twice as likely to have mental health problems .Children from Lone Parent Families are 2,.4 times as likely to smoke ,1.6 times as likely to drink alcohol .In the US 63% of teenage suicides , 90 % of homeless and 85% of juvenile prisoners are form Fatherless homes ( 70 % of UK young offenders coke from fatherless homes and again in the UK about the same proportion of young drug abusers . ...
What happened to "Wahtever w0rks "? Not when it stands in the way of New Labour`s loathing of anything they do not control

She is Mrs. Smug and she is highly annoying but I think you may have confused causes and effects.

The stats should say something like "Children of the kind of people who get married have these outcomes, whereas statistically children of the kind of people who don't get married have these different (inferior) outcomes.

The actual marriage is irrelevant; it's the upbringing, values, and outlook of the parents (of both/all generations) that makes a difference.
