Its A Sad Sad Situation ....

Terrifying News From Martin Bright....

'Now word reaches The Bright Stuff that the man who has never knowingly apologised for anything is preparing his very own "mea culpa". I am told that Whitehall officials have been ordered to make a compilation DVD of Obama's various apologies to the American TV networks to be studied by the Prime Minister.'

My guess is he will head for the S word and just as he gets there his head will start spinning and as a milky fluid ermerges from his ears his voice will go all wierd and high pitched .Prepare for mirth and arm your sides with anti splitting apparatus

Brown's been taking pointers from Clinton...at his good pal Blair's instigation? I can see it now:

"Sniff...sniff...ah did not have sex with that boom, man!"

Bill Quango MP said...

"I did not ..{pause}.. Mr Speaker, I did not.. end boom and bust."

Double negative..That's the face saver for oddball boy, who could never admit to a mistake without blood pouring from his eyes.

On Brown's DVD, even with the double negative, if you look carefully, he has his fingers crossed behind his back.
Then he spins round three times and touches the ground.

I actually bought Brown's DVD just a few moments ago. It has his tragic face on the cover, but when I played it, it just has Ronnie Corbett as Timothy Lumsden, in a variety of unlikely situations ??

The word 'sorry' can heal many hurts. If it is genuine. Sadly I fear nothing is genuine about anyone in Westminster except their ambition. Lust is a merciless mistress. I think it is never too late for repentence, but I doubt we'll hear one, really, in a soundbite.

What are you all sorry about? Is there something you could say sorry for and heal a hurt? Is there? Would you mean it?

Blimey, Philipa, that's the $64000 dollar question, isn't it?

Me, personally, I'm sorry that I wasn't a better mother and that I focussed too much on my career and too little on my two children. Yes, I have apologised to my children for that and I did mean it. They both tell me that I wasn't as bad a mother as I know I was, but they're being kind to me.

I'm half sorry that I separated from my last ex-husband in such a hurtful manner. However that one hurt I inflicted on him followed many years of many hurts, many trials and much trouble that he'd inflicted on me, so I don't know if I shall ever get around to healing that hurt.

A.Flo - I did the same reflection and came to the conclusion that all these things, both you and I combined, doesn't amount to a hill of beans against Bliar sending people to their death in an illegal war. You know, sometimes I just don't understand the world.

"You know, sometimes I just don't understand the world." (Philipa)

Me too - though sometimes I feel that I understand too much and wonder if I would be better off if I lived in blissful, chavesque ignorance.

Today for example, I received a newsletter from my - Conservative? - council notifying me of its new intiative to help the people of my town to save energy costs.

My immediate reponse was: ok, what's the, EU linked, privacy invading, moneymaking, quango and public sector pension generating scam behind this - and which government minion is raking in the profit of it?

The detector vans of 'Heat Seekers', the company doing the surveillancing (sorry, helping local people), will it seems, be creeping through housing estates at 10MPH looking for enviro-criminals heat leakers (sorry, people who need help).

"Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband welcomes the new approach, as he believes the ultimate solution lies in going door to door. He said: "It's been experimented on by a few councils and what we want to see is... can this be taken wider and more nationwide.By going street to street, door to door, people can actually get help."

Want to throw up yet?

And of course that led me to Prison Planet:

And to Burning Our Money's expose of the The Carbon Reduction Advisory Partnership quango, otherwise known as CRAP:

Philipa,

What a scandalous abuse of 'elf and safety fascism when even a Bishop is handcuffed and thrown into the cells for merely photographing his children as they sat reading on their chimney pot. What is our country coming to?

However, while I greatly admire this Bishop for his spirit of invention and creative child care methods and I'm outraged by the politically correct, nulab stasi that our police have become, I nevertheless can't help having a quiet giggle at the treatment meted out to this cleric.

It's not just that I never have liked Bishops nor seen the need for them or any of the grossly rich and pompous paraphenalia of the established church.

The real reason I find it so hilarious is that Bishops and clergy of the church of England are one of the prime movers and shakers behind the undemocratic nulab quangos that have taken over our country.

It's quite delicious that one of those who sits on these bloody EU affronts to democracy and liberty, controlling the lives and thoughts of the rest of us, should be banged up by the spirit of political correctness he has been instrumental in creating.

If I was so opposed to the sinister nulab hegemony which poses under the apparently benevolent guise of political correctness, Id say: throw the book at him!

And that piece from the breast feeding stasi just makes my blood boil, Philipa. How bl**dy dare they link mothers who do not breast feed their babies and duration of breast feeding to child abuse.

I know of child abusers who went on breastfeeding their children until the children were around 4-5 years old. Each of them claimed this was good for the baby.

I also know of women who tried hard to breast feed but couldn't do it for one reason or another. Some of them were so eaten up with the guilt generated by the vile and nasty 'breast is best' stasi that their guilt affected their relationshipo with their babies.

Flo - what annoys me about that is that all their stats are from mothers reported for abuse OR neglect (no difference). They 'filter out' effects of alcohol so they are effectively concluding that a drunken mother who hit her child was less likely to abuse her child than a sober one with inverted nipples whose child may have been left alone while she went to the shop for 5 minutes. Both were reported yet no degree of neglect or abuse was recorded. No control was done (voting pattern, cardigan wearing, blonde/brunette) nothing. This 'work' is rubbish and meaningless. Any intelligent person who had spent time in academia would know this. sadly 'studies show' makes policy.
