Being Nice To Brother Robert

I always enjoy Bob Piper's Blog which should really get more attention that it does . Too many left wing sites are infested with creeps practicing their Guardian essays and I cannot think of any other place to get a sense of the what the Labour Party is thinking beneath its frothy surface. He is usually ferociously partisan , but occasionally a more reflective piece slips out . By this I mean one that I agree with of course ...( ahem)
The following extracts are reacting to a John Kamfner piece ,itself reacting to Grieve's surveillance proposals . Kamfner claims Cameron is tacking back to safe Tory waters ,Robert diagrees ....

‘I think both Kamfner ..wrong. .....I actually think he believes all of this environmental , human-face-of-the-conservatives stuff. One of the mistakes the Tories made about Tony Blair was portraying him as a CND-supporting left-wing socialist with demon eyes behind the flashing smile and centre-right rhetoric. When they found out Blair was genuine (about this, at least) it was too late to change tack and they found themselves beached.
As I say, I believe Cameron believes......How all that will play out with his Party, ... is a tightrope Cameron will have to walk if he is ever elected......"

PS Sorry about the picture , his beauty , if there is any , must be an inner beauty

Mr Piper considers himself to be significantly more wonderful than he can possibly be. With all due respect to good local councillors, he would not cut it at a national level.

I would much rather the police found it easier to spy on criminals and councils less on the law-abiding bin users...

I `m less impressed with this national elite than you BE and i fimd liking the sound of ylur own voice the most forgibvable sin or obvious reasons.

I see what you mean, perraps I should have phrased that differently. What I meant was that he is a good blogger and no doubt an excellent councillor but I doubt the nation could find room for him in high office. Then again we have Yvette Balls in the cabinet...
