Unions; I`ve always had a soft spot for them because they are about loyalty and for a time they were heroic fighters were decent treatment (in the distant past). On ther other hand ,I support the Writers Union on the basis that with about 10,000 writers they couldn`t come up with a better slogan than " We put the storia into Eva Longoria"...anyway, the Unions are part of the fight against the Constitution and they are therefore my brothers.

Brian Denny , says the EU is dedicated to privatisation and the biggest attack on workers’ rights for a generationMonday, January 21, 2008 ( Tribune) http://www.compassonline.org.uk/article.asp?n=1195
In a nutshell his complaints are that the European Commission adopted a draft health services directive designed to create a “market” in healthcare. This constitutes a direct attack on the principles of the National Health Service. he also detests “flexicurity” -The concept is designed fatally undermine collective bargaining. It demands the abolition of “overtly protective terms and conditions” in contracts which supposedly “deter employers from hiring during economic upturns”. This would mean an end to workers’ collective rights"

It seems to me that if this "treaty" was so bloody good that ministers would be shouting from the rooftops. Instead they are ramming it through Parliament, with MPs not even given a proper copy of the "treaty" to look at when debating it.
So much for democracy.
I was a union rep once - I went out for lunch and they all voted me in the position :-/
The boss said I was no good as a Union rep as I was "too honest" and promptly tried to sack me and started disciplinary proceedings but as I was the top achiever in the place then she accused me of having "the wrong attitude" - I reminded her that in a sales position the 'right attitude' is the one that sells most goods and that would be me, then I told her to stuff her job. Didn't like sales anyway.
True true ed...Phillipa I cann imagine you m ight be a ferocious saleswoman
I am repentant N, and I only did it for a few months and regret it all.
Hey Newms, I can't call you 'sexy pants' any more as that title now belongs to Jez Paxo - he is fighting the good fight for all right thinking men.. who usually dress on the left..
quite right too, or left, honestly, wives everywhere have long (or short) been assured of pleasing their husbands but no, things are slipping, standards are going down, M&S pants are not what they once were! Where are they? Not providing support is where they are - they are slipping in that department. Marriages are already under enough strain and do NOT need this extra burden!
Is this the fault of single mothers I ask myself.
So do you, probably..
There are few things that cannot be paid at the dor of single mothers with a bit of imagination P...I loved anti ken show tonight

If people think that the EU Treaty will just mean losing a few more voting rights, they are seriously mistaken.
