Rumours of My Birth......?

I am busy with sordid trade but this made me laugh. Will Hutton, in the Observer , has learnt that a book by militant atheist Sam Harris is doing well is America .
“Harris quotes passages in the Bible that I did not know existed." He drools " One passage from Deuteronomy encourage Christians to stone to death anyone who tries to draw them away from their god “

Now can any clever clogs tell, me why it is somewhat unlikely , that Christians are referred to an awful lot in Deuteronomy ?

Hmmmmm?

Deuteronomy is OT - Moses in the wilderness and all that. Correct me if I'm wrong but this was before Jesus came into being wasn't it?? Ask Jack, he's the expert.

Deuteronomy is definately OT and I'm sure it's all about Moses: "And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face." I'm sure that's Deuteronomy.

I've just finished Jesus A Life by A N Wilson. It took me two months to get through because it's so deep. Well worth the effort, but not if you want to remain 'true' to Faith.

If writers are going to debunk Christianity then they should at least do so properly like Wilson.

Oh, when does Islam get the spotlight treatment ?

I have a lot of time for Christianity Kev. I am unable to summon much faith but then I have little faith in the atheist position either.

I can't do the book justice here but it was not a denial of Jesus - more an explanation of what he believed himself to be. He was a Jew who simply wanted to teach Jews how to be better in their faith. One left this book feeling that Jesus would be most displeased with all of the churches that exist in his name.

Jesus to S&M videos in 11 comments.

Harrumph !

Well if I'm right in my thinking, the abandonment of Christianity goes hand-in-hand with the predilection for home entertainment including the watching S&M videos on comfy sofas with wide screen TVs (from China all paid for on interest free credit than u verrry much)which all comes from one thing which is ....

... the housing booooom !

A curse on it !
