Questioning Climate Concensus

.
On the climate I have some questions.....

Thoughts in a Garden was written by Andrew Marvell who dies in 1678.

What a wondrous life is this I lead
Ripe apples drop about my head
The luscious clusters of the vine
About my mouth do crush their wine
The nectarines and curious peach
Into my hands themselves do reach
Stumbling on melons as I pass
Ensnared with Flowers I fall on grass

Judging by the Loire valley conditions evidently prevailing it would appear the world has got a lot colder. Then the questions keep coming …

Why are air taxes set at such a level as to not to make any change in behaviour?
Why at the same time are airports allowed to keep growing so that by 2030 the number of passengers will have risen from £228,000,000 to £465,000,000

Why are other emissions ignored although there supposed to be a 2.7 times as great affect from them (International Governmental Panel on Climate Change)

Why do we continue to subsidise air travel then?

In 1421 why was a Chinese naval squadron able to sail around the North Pole and find no ice?

Why has the Antarctic been gaining ice consistently over the past 30 years ?

6000 bore holes world wide show that temperatures were higher in the middle ages than now ,
why is this problem absent from UN assessments ?

Why is the fact that the doomsday predictions of climatologists are often disproved ignored. For example James Hansen in 1988told the US Congress in 1988 that the sea would rise several feet by 2000. It rose one inch ?

Why are questions of scale so childishly misrepresented by scare mongers who openly refer to the weather as the “climate”?

Why did Al Gore emote about the snows leaving Kilimanjaro when he knows there has been no rise in temperature and it is entirely the result of deforestation and consequent dehydration ? He is absolutely aware of this ;even if you are not .

Why are the most conspicuous consumers always the most self righteous . Prince Charles bought his “staff” bikes?
(He has asked for a Greener fleet of vehicles but will retain his Bentley , a Jaguar and an Aston Martin)

Why would the government rather monitor every car from the sky and feed that information into combined data bases than increase fuel tax ?

Why do people refer to a consensus on “climate change” when there is no such thing ?

Why , when the UK is respnsible for 2% of emmissions do we bother with domestic policy ?

How is Gordon Brown going to pay for his wastefulness.?

It is all because the Illuminati and their acolytes are conspiring to take over the world by using weather and climate related emergencies to justify it - they also control Al Qaueda! They also paid me to post this post to make the argument seem silly by overstating it and saying "Illuminati".

N, a sound post. I see Stephen Hawking is warning that the world is on the brink of a second nuclear age and a period of unprecedented climate change.
I think that a lot of the hysteria about climate change comes from the dangerous way that the role of religion in the west has been replaced by eco fundamentalism. Does that make sense?
'predict a lot more hysteria to come.

Yes it does make sense I often refer to greens as green religionists out of some sense of this . In Germany it is clear that greenery has filled a vaccuum.

Stephen Hawking went to my school by the way.

A interesting post. And yes, green taxes are just taxes dressing them up to be about saving the world is just missleading spin. Glad you made the point about the UK being responsible for just 2% of emissions, any efforts we do make will be in vane.

Well I think thats right but that doesnt mean I do not think there is a problem at all.

Hell, you ask a lot of questions. If a bullfrog were that inquisitive it would explode. I live on high ground, so I'm pretty relaxed about the rising sea level.

I think this just shows how incompetent governments are today. They follow the crowd to gain votes.

A solid policy would be a huge investment in research into what effects are causing. A huge amount of investment into technology to avert the crisis and finally a meaningful debate at the UN, to inlcude the USA on taking some practical steps together will all the other nations.

hmmm..wonder when that will happen?

CU there has been a huge investment into research but all that happens is that researchers produce results so as to encourage another one .
I think there is a problem although much exaggerated . It just cannot be used as a taxraising and Liberty taking religion. DC has a sensible approach

Mr mania
Maybe you could explain these fact to your hero mr potato head?

Oh do please fuck off Mr. Hitchens , David Cameron has a perfectly sensible attitude to the enviroment .Irwin Selzer and he are on the same page when he says it must be a tax reallocation not an increase. It is less of a problem than the foolish belive but there is still a job to be done .

Your Conseravtive Rosette awaits.
You are such a romantic fool

Dear NeuMenschia

You write "In 1421 why was a Chinese naval squadron able to sail around the North Pole and find no ice?"

Are you able to cite any evidence for this suggestion ?

Your obedient servant etc

It was in the Telegraph a couple of months ago in a series complaining abou the misrepresenation of climate change by the UN.

Mr Eagle
There actually are no north or south poles the earth is flat, a spinning circular flat thing and surrounded by a ring of ice.
civilian aircraft are forbidden to fly over the "poles" this proves it.

Mr Hitchens is right of course, Bridport for example has several distinct climates - the area around the allotmets is plunged in perpetual gloom, icebergs are usually seen in Beach Street and West Road enjoys a semi-tropical climate, which is of great comfort to the indigenous people and the monkeys.

which reminds me Mutley... In the 19th century a ship from Africa was wrecked in cornwall. All perished except a monkey they had picked up.

The Cornish thought that this was a Frenchman, after not getting him to speak, they hung him in the town sqaure.

Only some weeks later did someone travel to the town (falmouth) and explain to them what a monkey was.

CU and Mutt soemwhere mile away someone read that and choked with laughter....marvellous

Cityunslicker - it wasn't Falmouth it was Newcastle where they hung the monkey wasn't it?

Must sleepzzzzzzzzz

Neither Falmouth nor Newcastle - it was Hartlepool. To this day Hartlepudlians (?) are called 'monkey hangers', and the Hartlepool FC mascot is called H'angus. The current mayor is a former mascot...

And as ever the smarty pants award must go to Croydonian. Was it ever in doubt

Still, as someone put it to me some years ago, 'No one like a smartarse'.
